Wirtschaftswunder.
Die Wirklichkeit sieht völlig anders aus: Seit 2019, d.h. seitdem Mitsotakis regiert, hat es eine bemerkenswerte Umverteilung der Einkommen zugunsten der Gewinne und zu Lasten der Löhne gegeben.
Die Zwangsmaßnahmen der EU ab 2010 (Sparmaßnahmen, Deregulierung und Aushöhlung der Arbeitnehmerrechte) hatten zu einer humanitären Katastrophe geführt.
Sie ist nie zu Ende gegangen. Viele Menschen verloren ihre Arbeit und haben entweder nie wieder eine bekommen, oder nur eine zu einem Hungerlohn.
Oft werden die Arbeitenden sogar noch von ihren „Arbeitgebern“ um einen Teil des Lohns betrogen. Sehr viele Menschen überleben nur, weil Verwandte ihnen finanziell helfen.
Immer noch müssen tausende junge Menschen auswandern, um einen Beruf entsprechend ihrer Ausbildung ausüben zu können.
Eurostat, die europäische Statistikbehörde, hat festgestellt, dass jeder fünfte Mensch in Griechenland keine notwendige Gesundheitsversorgung erhält.
Selbst Zwangsräumungen sind noch alltäglich.

Economic miracle.
The reality is completely different: since 2019, i.e. since Mitsotakis came to power, there has been a remarkable redistribution of income in favour of profits and at the expense of wages.
The EU’s coercive measures from 2010 onwards (austerity measures, deregulation and the erosion of workers’ rights) had led to a humanitarian disaster.
It has never ended. Many people lost their jobs and either never found another one, or only found one paying a pittance.
Often, workers are even cheated out of part of their wages by their ‘employers’. A great many people survive only because relatives help them financially.
Thousands of young people are still forced to emigrate in order to practise a profession in line with their qualifications.
Eurostat, the European statistical office, has found that one in five people in Greece does not receive essential healthcare.
Even forced evictions are still a daily occurrence.
