„Nie wieder Deutschland“ – unter dieser Parole formierte sich Anfang der 1990er Jahre eine linke Strömung, die den erstarkenden deutschen Nationalismus nach der Wiedervereinigung kritisierte.
Aus der Ablehnung eines neuen deutschen Selbstbewusstseins entwickelte sich jedoch binnen weniger Jahre eine radikale Umdeutung linker Positionen:
Die bedingungslose Solidarität mit Israel wurde zur Staatsräson, die Kritik am deutschen Nationalstaat wich der Verteidigung seiner raison d’état (Staatsräson).
Doch wo hört die notwendige Auseinandersetzung mit dem Antisemitismus auf und wo beginnt die Instrumentalisierung des Kampfes gegen Antisemitismus für innenpolitische und geopolitische Interessen?
Spätestens seit dem 7. Oktober 2023 und den darauffolgenden Debatten um Israelkritik, Antisemitismusvorwürfe und die Rolle der Bundesregierung beim Genozid in Gaza hat diese Frage eine neue, politische Brisanz erfahren.
Die Veranstaltung widmet sich der kontroversen These, dass der Begriff des Antisemitismus innerhalb der antideutschen Linken nicht nur als analytische Kategorie, sondern zunehmend als Kampfbegriff fungiert um politische Gegner*innen zu diskreditieren, Kritik an israelischer Militärpolitik zu delegitimieren und eine spezifische Form von Staatsloyalität als linke Position zu inszenieren.
Nach der Veranstaltung wird es die Möglichkeit geben den Abend im La Casa gemeinsam ausklingen zu lassen und auch das „New Casa“ kennenzulernen.
Es wird eine englische Flüsterübersetzung geben.

„Antideutsche“ – From the Critique of the New German National Consciousness to German State Doctrine – “Antisemitism” as a Political Fighting Term / Lecture followed by discussion

“Never Again Germany” – under this slogan, a left-wing current emerged in the early 1990s that criticized the rise of German nationalism following reunification.
However, within just a few years, the rejection of a new German national self-image developed into a radical reinterpretation of left-wing positions:
unconditional solidarity with Israel became part of Germany’s „Staatsräson“ (state doctrine), while criticism of the German nation-state gave way to the defense of its raison d’état (reason of state).
But where does the necessary engagement with antisemitism end, and where does the instrumentalization of the fight against antisemitism for domestic and geopolitical interests begin?
Since October 7, 2023 at the latest, and the subsequent debates over criticism of Israel, accusations of antisemitism, and the role of the German government in relation to the genocide in Gaza, this question has gained renewed political significance.
The event explores the controversial thesis that within the „antideutsche“ left, the concept of antisemitism functions not only as an analytical category but increasingly as a political fighting term used to discredit political opponents, delegitimize criticism of Israeli military policy, and present a specific form of state loyalty as a left-wing position.
After the event, there will be an opportunity to spend the evening together at La Casa and also get to know the “New Casa.”
