Für Frieden und Gerechtigkeit gegen Krieg und Aufrüstung
– Gedenkzeremonie und Demonstration –
Anlässlich des 14. Internationalen Gedenktages für die “Trostfrauen” kommen wir bei der Friedensstatue Ari zu einer Gedenkzeremonie zusammen.
Der 14.08. ist ein wichtiger Tag im Kampf gegen sexualisierte Gewalt in Kriegen und bewaffneten Konflikten.1991 sprach Kim Hak-sun als erste Betroffene öffentlich über die sexualisierte Sklaverei und das sogenannte “Trostfrauen”-System durch das japanische Militär.
Wir gedenken ihr und allen Betroffenen und fordern ein Ende sexualisierter Gewalt in Kriegen und überall auf der Welt.
Von dort aus laufen wir in einem Demonstrationszug zur Leerstelle von Ari.
Sie ist ein wichtiger Bezugspunkt für die Community, bietet Opfern und Angehörigen einen Gedenkort und lädt jung und alt dazu ein, sich mit dem Thema sexualisierte Gewalt auseinanderzusetzen.
Wir fordern, dass Ari an ihren ursprünglichen Platz in Moabit zurückkehrt!

Im Anschluss lädt die Japanische Fraueninitiative zu einem Rundgang durch die Ausstellung “Gebrochenes Schweigen-Frauen klagen Japan an” im Museum der “Trostfrauen” ein.

For peace and justice, against war and armament
– Memorial ceremony and demonstration –
To mark the 14th International Day of Remembrance for the ‘comfort women’, we are gathering at the Ari Peace Statue for a memorial ceremony.
14 August is an important day in the fight against sexualised violence in wars and armed conflicts. In 1991, Kim Hak-sun became the first survivor to speak publicly about sexualised slavery and the so-called ‘comfort women’ system operated by the Japanese military.
We commemorate her and all those affected, and call for an end to sexualised violence in wars and throughout the world.
From there, we will march in a demonstration to the empty space where Ari once stood.
It is an important focal point for the community, offering victims and their families a place of remembrance and inviting people of all ages to engage with the issue of sexual violence.
We demand that Ari be returned to its original location in Moabit!
(At around 6.00 pm, on the corner of Birkenstraße and Bremer Straße)
Afterwards, the Japanese Women’s Initiative invites you to a guided tour of the exhibition “Broken Silence – Women Accuse Japan” at the “Comfort Women” Museum.
