Kommt am Mittwoch, 13.05.2026 ins Rote Café für unseren Infoabend mit anschließendem Blumenniederlegen an der Gedenktafel ❤️
Mahmud Azhar war wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Doktorand am Institut für Biochemie der FU Berlin als er 1990 an den Folgen eines rassistischen Angriffs starb, der an der Uni gegen ihn verübt wurde.
Wir wollen uns der Unsichtbarmachung seiner Ermordung entgegenstellen und gemeinsam mit unseren Kommiliton*innen über Leben und Tod von Mahmud Azhar lernen, sowie über die Behandlung der Geschehnisse im Nachhinein, unter anderem mit Fokus auf das beschämende Handeln der FU.

Come along on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 to the Rotes Café for our information evening, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial plaque ❤️
Mahmud Azhar was a research assistant and PhD student at the Institute of Biochemistry at the Free University of Berlin when he died in 1990 as a result of a racist attack carried out against him at the university.
We want to challenge the erasure of his murder and, together with our fellow students, learn about the life and death of Mahmud Azhar, as well as how the events were handled in the aftermath, with a particular focus on the FU’s shameful conduct.
