PROTEST-KUNDGEBUNG gegen die Präsenz Marokkos auf der Internationalen Tourismus-Börse (ITB)
Weißer Strand, blaues Meer, klarer Himmel – und keine 50km entfernt werden Menschenrechtler*innen und Journalist*Innen gefoltert.
Seit Jahrzehnten besetzt das marokkanische Regime weite Teile der Westsahara. Dort unterdrücken sie die sahrauische Bevölkerung, Menschen verschwinden ohne Anklage für Jahre in geheimen Gefängnissen.
Journalist*innen werden auf offener Straße zusammengeschlagen, Journalist*innen aus anderen Ländern, NGOs, Abgeordnete und Menschenrechtsaktivist*innen wird es verwehrt in die besetzten Gebiete zu reisen, um sie daran zu hindern von dort zu berichten.
Trotzdem profitieren deutsche Unternehmen wie Lufthansa, Discover Airlines und TUI an Flügen in die besetzten Gebiete.
Städte wie Dakhla oder El Aaiún werden mit Tourist*innen vollgeladen, während die sahrauische Bevölkerung unter der Besatzung leiden.
Unter den Augen der UNO, der europäischer Regierungen und natürlich auch unter den Augen deutscher Konzerne werden dort täglich die Menschenrechte verletzt.
Das marokkanische Besatzungsregime schmückt sich hier außerdem mit Nachhaltigkeit und Klimabewusstsein. Ganz bewusst wird dabei weggelassen, dass ihre Windparks und Aufbereitungsanlagen fast ausschließlich in den besetzten Teilen der Westsahara liegen.
Und ganz bewusst schweigen auch deutsche Konzerne wie Siemens, die bei dem Aufbau dieser Parks eine große Rolle spielen. Auf dem Rücken einer Kolonie wird hier Greenwashing betrieben.
Zudem verstößt Marokko permanent gegen das Urteil des EugH vom Oktober 2024 und beutet die Westsahara und ihre Ressourcen kontinuierlich aus.
Aber auf der ITB darf Marokko dann für sich und die besetzte Westsahara als Urlaubsparadies werben.
Mehrere große marokkanische Reiseagenturen wie Elixir Morocco, S’Tours, Paradis Travel & Events und das Marokkanische Fremdenverkehrsamt (ONMT – Office National Marocain du Tourisme) sind auch in diesem Jahr auf der ITB vertreten.
Mit der Kampagne „Kingdom of Light“ will Marokko Millionen Tourist*innen anlocken – auch in die besetzten Gebiete der Westsahara.
Die ITB macht sich mitschuldig an Ausbeutung, Folter und Unterdrückung. Sie wissen genau was vor Ort passiert und bieten Marokko noch einen Werbeplatz.
Wir nehmen das nicht mehr hin! Die Westsahara ist kein Reiseparadies Marokkos. Wir sagen klar, die Westsahara ist eine Kolonie und muss befreit werden.

Holiday in a torture state? Western Sahara is not Morocco!

PROTEST RALLY against Morocco’s presence at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB)
White beaches, blue sea, clear skies – and less than 50 km away, human rights activists and journalists are being tortured.
For decades, the Moroccan regime has occupied large parts of Western Sahara. There, they oppress the Sahrawi population, and people disappear without charge for years in secret prisons.
Journalists are beaten up in the streets, and journalists from other countries, NGOs, members of parliament and human rights activists are denied access to the occupied territories to prevent them from reporting from there.
Nevertheless, German companies such as Lufthansa, Discover Airlines and TUI profit from flights to the occupied territories.
Cities such as Dakhla and El Aaiún are filled with tourists, while the Sahrawi population suffers under occupation.
Human rights are violated there on a daily basis under the eyes of the UN, European governments and, of course, German corporations.
The Moroccan occupation regime also adorns itself with sustainability and climate awareness. It deliberately omits the fact that its wind farms and processing plants are located almost exclusively in the occupied parts of Western Sahara.
And German corporations such as Siemens, which play a major role in the construction of these parks, also remain deliberately silent. Greenwashing is being carried out here on the back of a colony.
In addition, Morocco is in permanent violation of the ECJ ruling of October 2024 and continues to exploit Western Sahara and its resources.
But at the ITB, Morocco is allowed to advertise itself and the occupied Western Sahara as a holiday paradise.
Several large Moroccan travel agencies such as Elixir Morocco, S’Tours, Paradis Travel & Events and the Moroccan Tourist Office (ONMT – Office National Marocain du Tourisme) are also represented at this year’s ITB.
With its ‘Kingdom of Light’ campaign, Morocco wants to attract millions of tourists – including to the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
The ITB is complicit in exploitation, torture and oppression. They know exactly what is happening on the ground and are still offering Morocco advertising space.
We will no longer accept this! Western Sahara is not a tourist paradise in Morocco. We clearly state that Western Sahara is a colony and must be liberated.
NO PLACE FOR THE MOROCCAN TORTURE REGIME AT THE ITB!
