Stell dir vor: du hast Schmerzen, du blutest, kannst aber die Arbeit nicht verlassen. Du riskierst nicht nur Konsequenzen, nein, du kannst deinen Arbeitsplatz ohne die Erlaubnis deines Vorgesetzten einfach nicht verlassen.
Das ist die Realität von Tausenden von Arbeiter*innen, die in der Textilindustrie in Süd- und Südostasien tätig sind. Vor allem in Myanmar hat sich die Situation in den vergangenen vier Jahren noch verschärft, seit das Militär die Macht übernommen und (wieder) eine Diktatur errichtet hat.
Selbst während der Periode müssen Fabrikarbeiter*innen Überstunden machen, sechs Tage die Woche arbeiten und das ohne angemessene sanitäre Anlagen.
Zusätzlich sind die Preise für Menstruationsprodukte so stark gestiegen, dass die betroffenen Personen sich diese nicht mehr leisten können.
Die Toiletten sind dreckig, überall liegt Müll, das Licht ist kaputt und gezwungenermaßen werden benutze Stoffreste aus den Fabriken anstelle von Binden eingesetzt, was immer wieder zu Infektionen und Allergien führt.
Wir folgen dem Aufruf unserer Genoss*innen der FGWM und bringen den Protest in Berlin auf die Straße. Marken, für die aktuell produziert wird, sind u.a. ONLY, VERO MODA, H & M, ZARA, BERSHKA, HUNKEMÖLLER, ETAM…
Unsere Forderungen richten sich an die Fabrikbesitzer (in der Tat fast ausschließlich männlich), aber auch an die Klamottenmarken, die überwiegend von der Ausbeutung in den Fabriken profitieren.
Sie haben sicherzustellen, dass in den Fabriken, die geforderten Bedingungen gegeben sind!
Wir fordern mit der FGWM für Arbeiter*innen in Myanmar und für menstruierende Menschen überall auf der Welt:
1. Bereitstellung von Menstruationsprodukten am Arbeitsplatz oder eine zusätzliche Vergütung für die Kosten der Produkte!
2. Bezahlte Freistellung während der Menstruation!
3. Keine verbindlichen Zielvorgaben für schwangere oder menstruierende Arbeiter*innen und weniger schwere / angemessen Aufgaben!
Kommt am 07.03. mit uns auf die Straße, um vor H&M zu protestieren und uns mit den Arbeiter*innen hier vor Ort zu verbünden.

Menstrual products for all who need them!

Imagine you’re in pain, you’re bleeding, but you cannot leave work. You do not only risk consequences – you physically cannot leave the premises without the permission of your boss.
That is the reality for thousands of female workers at garment factories in South and South East Asia. Especially in Myanmar, the situation got even worse within the past four years, since the military forcibly took power, (re)installing a dictatorship.
Even when the female workers are on their period they have to work overtime, six days a week and without proper sanitary facilities.
In addition, the prices for menstrual pads have been rising so high, that most workers cannot afford them anymore. The toilets aren’t clean, there’s trash all over the place, the lights aren’t working properly and the workers use left over fabric from the garment factories as pads, often resulting in infections and allergies.
We respond to the call of our comrades from FGWM and take our protest to the streets of Berlin. Production is currently taking place for the brands ONLY, VERO MODA, H & M, ZARA, BERSHKA, HUNKEMÖLLER, ETAM and many more…
Our demands are directed at the factory owners as well as the clothing brands, which mainly profit from the exploitation inside the factories.
They must ensure that the required conditions are met in the factories they source from!
Together with FGWM we demand for workers in Myanmar and menstruating people all over the world:
1. Free menstrual products at the workplace or the payment of a bonus equal to the cost of these products!
2. Paid leave for workers during their menstruation period!
3. Adjustment of workload for pregnant or menstruating workers and dropping of imposed production targets!
Join us on March 07th in front of H&M to protest and ally with local workers.
