28 Tage Hungerstreik – 1 Jahr Isolationshaft – Psychische Folter – Und die Aussicht auf 24 Jahre Knast!
All das erlebt Maja T. in einem unrechtmäßigen Verfahren in Ungarn – obwohl es keine Beweise für Majas Schuld gibt. Maja T. wird vorgeworfen, 2023 an einer Auseinandersetzung mit Faschisten beim „Tag der Ehre“ beteiligt gewesen zu sein.
Der „Tag der Ehre“ ist ein europaweites Neonazi-Großevent, bei dem jedes Jahr im Februar SS und Wehrmacht gefeiert werden.
In einer durch das Bundesverfassungsgericht für rechtswidrig erklärten Aktion wurde Maja letztes Jahr nach Ungarn verschleppt.
Dort sitzt Maja seitdem in Isolationshaft – eine Praxis, die psychische Folter ist. Maja hat nur wenige Stunden Sonnenlicht am Tag, die Zellen sind von Kakerlaken befallen und Maja erhält schimmliges Essen. Ohne Aussicht auf Besserung!
In Ungarn erwarten Maja, besonders als nonbinäre, queere Person, kein faires Verfahren und bis zu 24 Jahre Knast.
Wegen dieser Aussicht, dort über Jahrzehnte „lebendig begraben zu sein“ wie Maja es selbst sagt, hat Maja sich am 5. Juni entschieden, als letztes Mittel in den Hungerstreik zu gehen. Seitdem hat Maja bereits 12 Kilo abgenommen und ist stark geschwächt, die Zeit drängt also: Wenn Majas Forderungen nicht bald umgesetzt werden, sind ernste körperliche Folgen zu erwarten.
Von Anfang an kämpft Majas Vater Wolfram an der Seite seines Kindes für die Freilassung Majas. Aufgrund der dringlichen Situation hat er sich dazu entschieden, von Majas Heimatstadt Jena bis nach Berlin zu laufen, um dort Außenminister Wadephul die Petition „Holt Maja zurück! Keine Auslieferungen nach Ungarn!“ für Majas Freilassung zu überreichen.
Diese wurde bisher von über Hunderttausend Menschen unterschrieben.
Majas Vater kommt am 4.7. in Potsdam an. Wir begrüßen ihn dort mit einer Demo.
Am 5.7. läuft Majas Vater von Potsdam bis Berlin-Zehlendorf und am 6.7. wandern wir mit ihm rein nach Berlin, wo wir uns in Schöneberg mit einer Solidaritätsdemo für Maja zusammenschließen.
Am Montag, dem 7.7., beenden wir die Wanderung mit einer Demonstration vom Checkpoint Charlie über die ungarische Botschaft bis zum Auswärtigen Amt, um dem Außenminister die Petition zu überreichen.
Kommt dazu und unterstützt uns und Majas Vater auf seiner Wanderung.
Denn für uns ist klar: Maja kann in Ungarn keinen fairen Prozess kriegen und wir werden die Folter so nicht hinnehmen.
Für die Sofortige Rücküberstellung Majas nach Deutschland!
Behandlung durch Ärzte mit Englisch- oder Deutschkenntnissen!
Verlegung in den Hausarrest als „humanitärer“ Zwischenschritt gegen die Isolation!
Und vor allem: Freilassung von Maja und allen inhaftierten Antifaschist*innen!
Antifaschismus bleibt notwendig!

28 days of hunger strike – 1 year in solitary confinement – psychological torture – and the prospect of 24 years in prison!
Maja T. is experiencing all this in an unlawful trial in Hungary – even though there is no evidence of Maja’s guilt. Maja T. is accused of having been involved in a confrontation with fascists on ‘Honour Day’ in 2023.
‘Day of Honour’ is a major Europe-wide neo-Nazi event held every February to celebrate the SS and the Wehrmacht.
In an action declared unlawful by the Federal Constitutional Court, Maja was deported to Hungary last year.
Since then, Maja has been held in solitary confinement – a practice that constitutes psychological torture. Maja only gets a few hours of sunlight a day, the cells are infested with cockroaches and Maja is given mouldy food. With no prospect of improvement!
In Hungary, Maja, especially as a non-binary, queer person, cannot expect a fair trial and faces up to 24 years in prison.
Because of this prospect of being ‘buried alive’ there for decades, as Maja herself says, Maja decided on 5 June to go on hunger strike as a last resort. Since then, Maja has already lost 12 kilos and is severely weakened, so time is of the essence: if Maja’s demands are not met soon, serious physical consequences are to be expected.
From the very beginning, Maja’s father Wolfram has been fighting alongside his child for Maja’s release. Due to the urgent situation, he has decided to walk from Maja’s hometown of Jena to Berlin to present Foreign Minister Wadephul with the petition ‘Bring Maja back! No extraditions to Hungary!’ for Maja’s release.
This petition has been signed by over 100,000 people so far.
Maja’s father will arrive in Potsdam on 4 July. We will welcome him there with a demonstration.
On 5 July, Maja’s father will walk from Potsdam to Berlin-Zehlendorf, and on 6 July we will walk with him into Berlin, where we will join forces in Schöneberg for a solidarity demonstration for Maja.
On Monday, 7 July, we will end the walk with a demonstration from Checkpoint Charlie via the Hungarian Embassy to the Foreign Office to present the petition to the Foreign Minister.
Come and support us and Maja’s father on his walk.
Because for us it is clear: Maja cannot get a fair trial in Hungary and we will not accept torture.
For Maja’s immediate transfer back to Germany!
Treatment by doctors with English or German language skills!
Transfer to house arrest as a ‘humanitarian’ interim step against isolation!
And above all: the release of Maja and all imprisoned anti-fascists!
Anti-fascism remains necessary!
