Veranstaltung mit Ingar Solty zur Militarisierung der Gesellschaft und ihren Ursachen
Vom 10. bis 12. Juli finden in Berlin Aktionstage gegen die Waffenfabrik von Rheinmetall im Wedding statt.
Demnächst sollen dort Bauteile für Artilleriemunition produziert werden.
Im Vorfeld wollen wir uns mit den Gründen und Ursachen der Umbaus auf eine Art Kriegswirtschaft auseinandersetzen.
Nicht nur im Wedding wird zivile Produktion in militärische umgewandelt. Zahlreiche Betriebe sind davon betroffen.
Zeitgleich werden weitere gesellschaftliche Bereiche militarisiert:
Krankenhäuser werden kriegstauglich gemacht, das Straßen- und Schienennetz für Militärtransporte ausgebaut und die Bundeswehr erweitert ihren Einfluss in Schulen.
In seiner Flugschrift „Innere Zeitenwende – Die Militarisierung von Deutschlands Gesellschaft und Alltagskultur“ beleuchtet Ingar Solty das ganze Ausmaß der Aufrüstung.
Er ist Referent für Friedens- und Sicherheitspolitik am »Zentrum für Gesellschaftsanalyse und politische Bildung« der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in Berlin.
Gemeinsam mit Ingar Solty wollen wir über die wirtschaftliche und politische Krise und die Militarisierung als Klassenfrage sprechen.
Wir werden außerdem berichten, was an den Aktionstagen im Wedding geplant ist und wie ihr euch beteiligen könnt.

Event with Ingar Solty on the militarisation of society and its causes
From 10 to 12 July, days of action will take place in Berlin against the Rheinmetall arms factory in Wedding.
Components for artillery ammunition are soon to be produced there.
In the run-up to this, we want to examine the reasons and causes behind the shift towards a war economy.
It is not only in Wedding that civilian production is being converted to military use. Numerous businesses are affected by this.
At the same time, other areas of society are being militarised:
Hospitals are being made fit for war, the road and rail networks are being expanded for military transport, and the Bundeswehr is extending its influence in schools.
In his pamphlet *‘Inner Turning Point – The Militarisation of German Society and Everyday Culture’*, Ingar Solty sheds light on the full extent of this rearmament.
He is a researcher specialising in peace and security policy at the “Centre for Social Analysis and Political Education” of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Berlin.
Together with Ingar Solty, we want to discuss the economic and political crisis and militarisation as a class issue.
We will also report on what is planned for the days of action in Wedding and how you can get involved.
