Die Regierung Meloni in Italien will mit dem Bau eines gigantischen Infrastrukturprojekts beginnen: der Brücke über die Straße von Messina, die die Insel Sizilien mit dem Festland verbinden soll.
In einem Land, in dem es an grundlegender Infrastruktur (Gesundheitswesen, öffentlicher Nahverkehr, Wohnraum, Wasserversorgung) mangelt, ist dieses Projekt ein weiteres, das ein ohnehin schon fragiles Gebiet im Namen der Spekulation zerstören wird.
Zusammen mit einigen Genoss*innen aus Messina werden wir über dieses Infrastrukturprojekt und seine sozialen und ökologischen Auswirkungen diskutieren.
Wir werden auch über staatliche Repression und die „No Bridge”-Bewegung sprechen, die sich seit einigen Jahren in Messina organisiert und engagiert.
Die gesammelten Gelder kommen Genoss*innen zugute, die während einer der Demonstrationen in Italien verhaftet wurden.

The Meloni government in Italy wants to begin construction on a massive infrastructure project: the Strait of Messina Bridge, which would connect the island of Sicily to the mainland.
In a land where basic infrastructure (healthcare, public transportation, housing, water supply) is lacking, the project is yet another one that will destroy an already fragile territory in the name of speculation.
With some comrades from Messina, we will discuss this infrastructure project and its social and environmental impact. We will also talk about state repression and the „No Bridge“ movement, which has been organizing and fighting in Messina for some years.
Money raised will support comrades arrested in Italy during one of the demonstrations.
