Vortrag und Diskussion: „Aufrüstung an der Nato-Ostflanke – Kriegstüchtigkeit als dauerhafte Organisationsform internationaler Politik“
Noch herrscht (offiziell) kein offener Krieg zwischen NATO und Russland, doch seine Möglichkeit wirkt bereits als zentraler Motor der deutschen Wiederbewaffnung.
Zukunftsszenarien einer möglichen Eskalation entfalten ihre Wirkung in Haushaltsverhandlungen und politischen Entscheidungen.
In der Praxis bedeutet das: mehr Geld für Militär, Rüstung, Polizei, Geheimdienste und Überwachung.
Gleichzeitig bedeutet es für uns im Stadtteil weniger Mittel für Bildung, Kultur, Gesundheit und soziale Sicherheit.
Sicherheitspolitische Prioritäten setzen sich durch, während soziale Infrastruktur unter Druck gerät und gesellschaftliche Bedürfnisse zunehmend nachrangig behandelt werden.
Die Entwicklungen an der NATO-Ostflanke haben konkrete Auswirkungen bis in unseren Alltag hinein 💸
📌 Am 05.06. wollen wir deshalb im Kiezhaus Agnes Reinhold gemeinsam mit der Gruppe Postkom die Ostflanke der NATO in den Blick nehmen.

👉Welche Rolle spielen Polen und die baltischen Staaten heute in der NATO-Strategie?

Lecture and discussion: ‘Rearmament on NATO’s Eastern Flank – War-readiness as a Permanent Form of Organisation in International Politics’
There is not yet (officially) an open war between NATO and Russia, but the possibility of one is already acting as a key driver of German rearmament.
Future scenarios of a possible escalation are having an impact on budget negotiations and political decisions.
In practice, this means: more money for the military, armaments, the police, intelligence services and surveillance.
At the same time, for us in the neighbourhood, it means fewer resources for education, culture, health and social security.
Security policy priorities are taking precedence, whilst social infrastructure comes under pressure and societal needs are increasingly treated as secondary.
Developments on NATO’s eastern flank have concrete repercussions that reach right into our everyday lives 💸
📌 On 5 June, we therefore want to take a closer look at NATO’s eastern flank at the Kiezhaus Agnes Reinhold, together with the Postkom group.
