Grenzen der Träume und Ängste erkundet das Leben einer Gruppe palästinensischer Kinder, die in Flüchtlingslagern aufwachsen.
Im Mittelpunkt des Films stehen zwei Mädchen im Teenageralter, Mona und Manor. Obwohl sie in Flüchtlingslagern leben, die meilenweit voneinander entfernt sind, gelingt es den Mädchen, trotz der überwältigenden Barrieren, die sie trennen, miteinander zu kommunizieren und Freundinnen zu werden.
Der Film zeigt ihr Leben, ihre Träume und ihre wachsende Beziehung, zunächst per E-Mail, und gipfelt in ihrem dramatischen Treffen am Zaun, der sie an der Grenze zwischen Libanon und dem besetzten Palästina trennt.
Während sie sich kennen lernen und gemeinsam ein tieferes Verständnis für ihr palästinensisches Erbe und die Unterdrückung ihres Volkes entwickeln, beginnt die zweite Intifada.

Frontiers of Dreams and Fears explores the lives of a group of Palestinian children growing up in refugee camps.
The film focuses on two teenage girls, Mona and Manor. Although they live in refugee camps miles apart, the girls manage to communicate and become friends despite the overwhelming barriers that separate them.
The film reveals their lives, dreams, and growing relationship, at first through email, culminating in their dramatic meeting at the fence that separates them at the Border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
As they get to know each other and together develop a deeper understanding of their palestinian heritage and the oppression their people endure, the Second Intifada begins to rise.
