Wenn deutsche Medien über Palästina-Solidarität berichten, folgt oft schon nach wenigen Absätzen der Antisemitismus-Vorwurf.
Gleichzeitig kritisieren internationale Institutionen wie der UN- und EU-Menschenrechtsrat sowohl diese Diskursverschiebung als auch die teils massive Polizeigewalt gegen palästinasolidarische Demonstrierende.
Über 25 Menschenrechts- und humanitäre Organisationen sprechen inzwischen von einem Genozid in Gaza.
Während sich die Ereignisse in Gaza in sozialen Medien weltweit in Echtzeit dokumentieren, finden diese Perspektiven in deutschen Leitmedien kaum vergleichbaren Raum. Wer sie dennoch öffentlich anspricht, sieht sich nicht selten mit dem Vorwurf des Antisemitismus konfrontiert.
Wie konnte es zu dieser Diskrepanz kommen? Welche medialen Muster und Narrative prägen die Berichterstattung? Und was bedeutet das für eine offene Debattenkultur?
Um diese und anderen Fragen zu diskutieren, haben wir Fabian Goldman zu einer Lesung eingeladen.
Denn welche Methoden Tagesschau, BILD, Spiegel, taz und Co. angewandt haben und wie aus gut ausgebildeten Journalisten Propagandisten eines Genozids werden konnten, zeigt seiner Untersuchung, die im Februar 2026 als Buch erschienen ist: „Staatsräsonfunk“.
Es beschäftigt sich mit der beispiellosen medialen Unterstützung an Israels Krieg im Nahen Osten, der in vielerlei Hinsicht als der verheerendste des 21. Jahrhunderts gilt.
Wie in kaum einem anderen Land haben Medien in Deutschland nach dem 7. Oktober 2023 die tödliche Realität in der Region verharmlost, gerechtfertigt oder gleich ganz verschwiegen.
Anhand eigens erhobener Daten und sorgsamer Recherchen liefert das Buch die Anatomie eines Systemversagens irgendwo zwischen Stereotypen, Selbstzensur und Staatsräson.

When German media report on solidarity with Palestine, accusations of anti-Semitism often follow after just a few paragraphs.
At the same time, international institutions such as the UN and EU Human Rights Councils are criticising both this shift in discourse and the sometimes excessive police violence against demonstrators showing solidarity with Palestine.
Over 25 human rights and humanitarian organisations are now speaking of genocide in Gaza.
Whilst events in Gaza are being documented in real time on social media worldwide, these perspectives receive hardly any comparable coverage in Germany’s leading media outlets. Those who nevertheless address them publicly are not infrequently confronted with accusations of anti-Semitism.
How did this discrepancy come about? What media patterns and narratives shape the reporting? And what does this mean for an open culture of debate?
To discuss these and other questions, we have invited Fabian Goldman to give a reading.
For his investigation, published as a book in February 2026 under the title *Staatsräsonfunk*, reveals the methods employed by *Tagesschau*, *BILD*, *Der Spiegel*, *taz* and others, and how well-trained journalists could become propagandists for a genocide.
It deals with the unprecedented media support for Israel’s war in the Middle East, which is regarded in many respects as the most devastating of the 21st century.
In Germany, more than in almost any other country, the media have, since 7 October 2023, downplayed, justified or even completely concealed the deadly reality in the region.
Drawing on data collected by the author and meticulous research, the book provides an anatomy of a systemic failure lying somewhere between stereotypes, self-censorship and reasons of state.
