Sommerkino am Donnerstag 18.07. um 20:45 Uhr vor dem New Yorck – Bethanien
In der Nacht vom 18./19. Juli wird die Rojava-Revolution ihren 12. Geburtstag feiern. Ein basisdemokratischer Prozess, der durch die Gesellschaft Nord-Ostsyriens getragen wird und über die Jahre viele Errungenschaften für ein selbstbestimmtes Leben insbesondere für Frauen und Jugendliche hervorgebracht hat.
Wir wollen den Tag der Revolution zum Anlass nehmen, den Film „On the Other Side of the River“ von Antonia Kilian vor dem Bethanien New Yorck zu zeigen.
Die Dokumentation zeigt den mitreißenden Weg von einer jungen Frau in den Selbstverteidigungseinheiten in Rojava. Sie will für ihre Freiheit kämpfen, sieht sich aber konfrontiert mit den Hindernissen einer sich im Wandel befindenden alten Gesellschaft.

Summer cinema on Thursday 18.07. at 20:45 in front of the New Yorck – Bethanien
On the night of 18/19 July, the Rojava Revolution will celebrate its 12th birthday. A grassroots democratic process that is supported by the society of North-East Syria and has brought about many achievements over the years for a self-determined life, especially for women and young people.
We want to take the Day of Revolution as an opportunity to show the film „On the Other Side of the River“ by Antonia Kilian in front of Bethanien New Yorck.
The documentary shows the rousing journey of a young woman in the self-defence units in Rojava. She wants to fight for her freedom, but is confronted with the obstacles of an old society in transition.
