UNSERE KIEZE ÜBERWACHUNGSFREI
Die Uberwachung unserer Kieze wird weiter ausgebaut.
Mit dem neuen Polizeigesetz sollen neue Kameras, Gesichtserkennung, Datensammlungen und algorithmusbasierte Systeme die Bewegungen von Menschen erfassen und sie automatisiert kategorisieren.
Am Kottbusser Tor ist KI-gestützte Überwachung bereits Realität. Jetzt soll
sie auch in Neukölln an sogenannten „kriminalitätsbelasteten Orten“ eingesetzt werden.
Wir sagen: Ohne uns!
Der Berliner Senat verkauft uns diese Technologien als Fortschritt und als Mittel für mehr „Sicherheit‘!
Doch Sicherheit für wen?
Ganz sicher nicht für arme, Wohnungslose und migrantische Menschen.
Es ist kein Zufall, dass Kreuzberg und Neukölln zu den Experimentierfeldern für neue Uberwachungstechnologien gemacht
werden.
Unsere Kieze sind schon heute geprägt von Polizeipräsenz, Kontrollen und Repression.
Für die Polizei ist Geld da, für unsere Kieze nicht, da fallen die Schulen auseinander und die Jugendzentren schließen.
Gleichzeitig werden unsere Kieze in Medien und Politik immer wieder zu „Problembezirken“ und Brennpunkten “ erklärt.
Neukölln und Kreuzberg sind keine Laboratorien für staatliche Uberwachung.
Hier leben wir.
Hier arbeiten wir.
Hier gehen wir zur Schule.
Hier organisieren wir uns und kämpfen gemeinsam gegen Ausgrenzung, Rassismus und soziale Ungleichheit.
Wir lassen uns nicht einreden, dass mehr Überwachung mehr Sicherheit bedeutet.
Wir wollen keine Kameras, die unsere Gesichter scannen.
Wir wollen keine Algorithmen, die uns verdächtigen.
Wir wollen keine Polizei, die unsere Kieze immer weiter kontrolliert.
Wir wollen keine automatisierte Repression.

OUR NEIGHBOURHOODS SURVEILLANCE-FREE
Surveillance in our neighbourhoods is being further expanded.
Under the new Police Act, new cameras, facial recognition, data collection and algorithm-based systems are set to track people’s movements and categorise them automatically.
At Kottbusser Tor, AI-powered surveillance is already a reality. Now it is set to be deployed in Neukölln too, in so-called ‘crime-prone areas’.
We say: Not without us!
The Berlin Senate is selling these technologies to us as progress and as a means of achieving greater ‘security’!
But security for whom?
Certainly not for poor, homeless and migrant people.
It is no coincidence that Kreuzberg and Neukölln are being turned into testing grounds for new surveillance technologies.
Our neighbourhoods are already characterised by a heavy police presence, checks and repression.
There’s money for the police, but not for our neighbourhoods, where schools are falling apart and youth centres are closing.
At the same time, our neighbourhoods are repeatedly labelled as ‘problem areas’ and ‘hotspots’ in the media and in politics.
Neukölln and Kreuzberg are not laboratories for state surveillance.
This is where we live.
This is where we work.
This is where we go to school.
This is where we organise ourselves and fight together against exclusion, racism and social inequality.
We won’t be fobbed off with the idea that more surveillance means more security.
We don’t want cameras scanning our faces.
We don’t want algorithms that treat us as suspects.
We don’t want the police to keep tightening their grip on our neighbourhoods.
We don’t want automated repression.
