Wir beginnen um 18:00 Uhr mit einer Auswahl palästinensischer Kurzfilme, kuratiert von @palidairies
Anschließend zeigen wir „Saffron Kingdom“ @saffronkingdomfilm (Arfat Sheikh, 2024), gefolgt von einer kurzen Fragerunde mit dem Regisseur @arfat_a_sheikh.
„Saffron Kingdom” begleitet Masrat, eine Frau aus Kaschmir, die nach der Entführung ihres Mannes mit ihrem Sohn Rizwan aus dem Tal flieht.
Die Erzählung zeichnet ihr Leben im Exil nach, die Beständigkeit ihrer Erinnerungen und generationenübergreifenden Traumata sowie ihre Versuche, in einem neuen Land eine neue Identität und Zugehörigkeit aufzubauen.
Die Kapazität des Vorführraums ist begrenzt, kommen Sie also früh, um sich einen Platz zu sichern. Refuge ist den ganzen Tag geöffnet.

We are starting at 6 pm with a selection of Palestinian short films curated by @palidairies
Next, we will screen “Saffron Kingdom” @saffronkingdomfilm (Arfat Sheikh, 2024), followed by a short Q&A session with the director @arfat_a_sheikh
“Saffron Kingdom” follows Masrat, a Kashmiri woman who flees the valley with her son Rizwan after the abduction of her husband. The narrative traces their life in exile, the persistence of memory and intergenerational trauma, and their attempts to rebuild identity and belonging in a new country.
The screening space has limited capacity, so arrive early to secure your spot. Refuge is open the whole day.
