Lebensgeschichten Live mit dem Museum der Trostfrauen am 17.10. um 19:00 im Polyrama – Museum für Lebensgeschichten
Die AG „Trostfrauen“ @trostfrauen im Korea Verband leistet bedeutende Bildungs- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, um die Geschichte der sogenannten „Trostfrauen“ – rund 200.000 Frauen, die während des Asien-Pazifik-Krieges vom japanischen Militär sexuell versklavt wurden – bekannt zu machen.
Im Jahr 2020 errichtete die AG „Trostfrauen“ die Friedensstatue „Ari“ in Berlin-Moabit, die seitdem als Erinnerungsort für die „Trostfrauen“ und alle Betroffenen sexualisierter Gewalt dient. Doch nun droht ihre Entfernung durch das Bezirksamt Berlin-Mitte, während der Korea Verband sich aktiv für ihren Erhalt einsetzt.
Nataly Jung-Hwa Han, Vorstandsvorsitzende des Korea-Verbands, initiierte im November 2009 die Gründung der AG „Trostfrauen“. Sie hat eine leitende Funktion im Museum der Trostfrauen (MuT) @trostfrauen.museum , wo Besucher*innen in multimedialen Installationen mehr über das „Trostfrauensystem“, den japanischen Imperialismus und die Geschichten der Überlebenden erfahren können.
Der Korea Verband @koreaverband ist eine unabhängige Plattform, die sich mit der Geschichte, Kultur und den aktuellen Entwicklungen Koreas beschäftigt. Er setzt sich weltweit für Menschenrechte und Demokratie ein und kooperiert international mit NGOs und Expert*innen.
Nataly hat mehrere ehemalige Trostfrauen persönlich getroffen und wird die Arbeit des Vereins vorstellen sowie die Bedeutung ihrer Erzählungen hervorheben.

The AG ‘Trostfrauen’ The ‘comfort women’ working group in the Korea Association does important educational and public relations work to publicise the history of the so-called ‘comfort women’ – around 200,000 women who were sexually enslaved by the Japanese military during the Asia-Pacific War.
In 2020, the ‘comfort women’ working group erected the ‘Ari’ peace statue in Berlin-Moabit, which has since served as a place of remembrance for the ‘comfort women’ and all those affected by sexualised violence. But now the Berlin-Mitte district office is threatening to remove it, while the Korea Association is actively campaigning for its preservation.
Nataly Jung-Hwa Han, Chairwoman of the Board of the Korea Association, initiated the founding of the ‘Comfort Women’ working group in November 2009. She has a leading role at the Museum of Comfort Women (MuT) @trostfrauen.museum , where visitors can learn more about the ‘comfort women system’, Japanese imperialism and the stories of the survivors through multimedia installations.
The Korea Association @koreaverband is an independent platform that focuses on the history, culture and current developments in Korea. It campaigns for human rights and democracy worldwide and cooperates internationally with NGOs and experts.
Nataly has personally met several former comfort women and will introduce the work of the association and emphasise the importance of their stories.
