👤 Unser Referent von der Kubanischen Botschaft @embacubarfa wird über die US-Blockade #UnblockCuba, die aktuellen Entwicklungen und den Einsatz für Frieden und Souveränität sprechen. Anschließend Diskussion.
In den letzten Monaten gingen in Kuba Tausende auf die Straße – für Frieden, gegen die Blockade und gegen die verstärkte imperialistische Bedrohung durch die USA. Außerdem gab es große Demonstrationen mit sehr hoher Beteiligung von Schüler*innen und Student*innen zu wichtigen Gedenktagen der kubanischen Revolution.
Zuvor hatte die US-Regierung nach dem Überfall auf Venezuela und der Geiselnahme des venezuelanischen Präsidenten Maduro und seiner Ehefrau mit einer Exekutivanordnung Kuba zum nächsten Ziel als „Bedrohung der nationalen Sicherheit“ erklärt.
Trump verkündete, dass kein venezuelanisches Öl und kein Geld mehr nach Kuba fließen werde, außerdem wolle die USA Strafzölle gegen Länder erheben, die Kuba mit Öl versorgen würden. Mit diesen Gangster-Methoden soll Kuba wirtschaftlich erpresst und die Bevölkerung zermürbt werden.
Gegen dieses (neo)koloniale und imperialistische Gebaren rufen die kubanischen Organisationen und die internationale Solidaritätsbewegung dazu auf, sich für Frieden einzusetzen und das internationale Recht zu verteidigen.
Unter anderem kündigte eine internationale Koalition aus sozialen Bewegungen, Gewerkschaften und humanitären Organisationen an, im März einen Schiffskonvoi, die “Nuestra América Flotilla“, mit Lebensmitteln und Medikamenten nach Kuba zu entsenden.
Schluss mit der mörderischen Blockade!

In recent months, thousands have taken to the streets in Cuba – for peace, against the blockade and against the increased imperialist threat from the US. There have also been large demonstrations with very high participation by schoolchildren and students on important anniversaries of the Cuban Revolution.
Previously, following the invasion of Venezuela and the hostage-taking of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife, the US government had declared Cuba its next target as a ‘threat to national security’ in an executive order.
Trump announced that no more Venezuelan oil or money would flow to Cuba and that the US would impose punitive tariffs on countries that supplied Cuba with oil. These gangster methods are intended to economically blackmail Cuba and wear down its population.
In response to this (neo)colonial and imperialist behaviour, Cuban organisations and the international solidarity movement are calling for action to promote peace and defend international law.
Among other things, an international coalition of social movements, trade unions and humanitarian organisations announced that it would send a convoy of ships, the ‘Nuestra América Flotilla’, to Cuba in March with food and medicine.
End the murderous blockade!
