Trotz des historischen Ausmaßes an Zerstörung im Laufe des Genozids strömten bereits wenige Tage nach Inkrafttreten der Waffenruhe über eine halbe Million vertriebene Palästinenser:innen zu Fuß in den Norden Gazas zurück.
Für Zurückkehrende auf der Suche nach ihren Familien und Häusern sind ganze Städte nicht mehr wiedererkennbar. Der Großteil Gazas ist eine Trümmerwüste, ganze Nachbarschaften sind in Schutt und Asche gelegt.
Gemeinsam mit Riad Othman (@medicointernational ), Diana Nazzal (@palestinespeaks ), Iris Hefets (@juedischestimme ) und Dr. Nahed Samour (Radboud University) analysieren wir die systematische Vernichtung der Lebensgrundlagen in Gaza.
Neben ununterbrochenen Flächenbombardements gehörten zu den zentralen Strategien des Israelischen Staates: Hunger als Kriegswaffe, die gezielte Zerstörung lebensnotwendiger Infrastruktur und die fast vollständige Vernichtung des Gesundheitssystems.

Despite the historic level of destruction caused by the genocide, more than half a million displaced Palestinians returned to northern Gaza on foot just a few days after the ceasefire came into force.
For those returning in search of their families and homes, entire towns are unrecognisable. Most of Gaza is a wasteland of rubble, entire neighbourhoods have been reduced to ashes.
Together with Riad Othman (@medicointernational ), Diana Nazzal (@palestinespeaks ), Iris Hefets (@juedischestimme ) and Dr Nahed Samour (Radboud University), we analyse the systematic destruction of livelihoods in Gaza.
In addition to incessant aerial bombardment, the Israeli state’s key strategies have included starvation as a weapon of war, the targeted destruction of vital infrastructure and the almost complete destruction of the healthcare system.
