Was verstehen wir unter antifaschistischer Praxis?
Dieser Frage wird in vier Gesprächen mit Menschen, die in ganz unterschiedlichen Feldern antifaschistisch handeln, nachgegangen. Antifaschismus soll dabei breit verstanden werden: sexuelle Bildung, Organisierung im Jugendclub, Opposition in der DDR, Arbeit im Migrationsrat.
Nicht alle Praktiken und Menschen, die hier vorgestellt werden, verstehen sich als per se antifaschistisch – und sind es spätestens auf den zweiten Blick dann doch. Denn sie wollen widerständige Alternativen zum besorgniserregenden Zustand unserer Gesellschaft.
Die aktuellen politischen Entwicklungen sind noch immer nicht für alle als faschistische Tendenzen zu erkennen. Und das, obwohl wir in einem Staat leben, der sich längst von der Idee des gleichen Rechts für alle Menschen verabschiedet hat – sollte er sich je diesem Ideal verpflichtet gefühlt haben.
Während der Staat im sozialen und kulturellen Bereich kürzt und kürzt, steigen die Ausgaben für Militär und innere Sicherheit.
In der gleichen Zeit wird Unsagbares sagbar, Migration wird in (fast) allen Parteien zum Problem erklärt, soziale Ungleichheiten verschärfen sich und menschenfeindliches Gedankengut verbreitet sich bis tief hinein in die sogenannte Mitte der Gesellschaft. All das kann sehr beklemmend wirken.
Gerade deshalb brauchen wir weiterhin Räume der Begegnung und des Austausches. Räume, die von einer besseren Welt erzählen. Räume, die von Solidarität und Empathie berichten, aber auch von der Wut, die uns umtreibt.
Einer dieser Räume soll mit dieser Gesprächsreihe im AKTIONSHAUS geschaffen werden.
An den vier Abenden kommen wir mit unterschiedlichen Menschen ins Gespräch, deren Handeln genau davon geprägt ist.
Auch wenn es in diesen Zeiten nicht leicht ist, dürfen wir nicht vergessen, wie gut es ist, ein Leben geprägt von Miteinander, Solidarität und Liebe führen zu können.

What do we mean by anti-fascist practice?
This question will be explored in four conversations with people who are active in very different fields of anti-fascism. Anti-fascism should be understood in a broad sense: sex education, organizing in youth clubs, opposition in the GDR, work in the Migration Council.
Not all of the practices and people presented here see themselves as anti-fascist per se – but on closer inspection, they are. Because they want resistant alternatives to the worrying state of our society.
The current political developments are still not recognized by everyone as fascist tendencies. And this despite the fact that we live in a state that has long since abandoned the idea of equal rights for all people—if it ever felt committed to this ideal.
While the state is cutting back and cutting back in the social and cultural spheres, spending on the military and internal security is rising.
At the same time, the unspeakable is becoming speakable, migration is being declared a problem by (almost) all political parties, social inequalities are worsening, and misanthropic ideas are spreading deep into the so-called center of society. All of this can be very oppressive.
That is precisely why we continue to need spaces for encounter and exchange. Spaces that tell of a better world. Spaces that speak of solidarity and empathy, but also of the anger that drives us.
This series of talks at AKTIONSHAUS aims to create one such space.
Over the course of four evenings, we will talk to different people whose actions are shaped by precisely these values.
Even though it is not easy in these times, we must not forget how good it is to be able to live a life characterized by togetherness, solidarity, and love.
