Im April 2024 reisen zwei australische Ärzte von Sydney nach Gaza, um dort lebenswichtige medizinische Hilfe zu leisten.
Sie lassen ihre Familien zurück und begeben sich in eine Welt, die von unvorstellbarer Gewalt und allgegenwärtigem Mangel am Nötigsten geprägt ist.
Dabei filmen sie sich meist selbst – bei ihrer Arbeit und um unmittelbar Zeugnis ihrer Erlebnisse abzulegen, um das Erlebte zu verarbeiten.
Anhand ihrer Reise enthüllt „Until the Sky Falls Quiet“ Geschichten von Verlust, Widerstandskraft und Hoffnung der Palästinenser und zeigt zugleich die verheerenden Folgen des Genozids für das medizinische Personal und seine Patienten.
Es entstand das intime Porträt zweier Ärzte: professionell Handelnde am OP-Tisch und Verzweifelte, hilflos, angesichts von Zerstörung, Leid und Mangel.
Mit ihrem Leben stehen sie für das Prinzip Hoffnung ein.

In April 2024, two Australian doctors travel from Sydney to Gaza to provide vital medical aid.
They leave their families behind and enter a world characterised by unimaginable violence and a pervasive lack of basic necessities.
They mostly film themselves – whilst at work and to bear direct witness to their experiences, as a way of coming to terms with what they have been through.
Through their journey, “Until the Sky Falls Quiet” reveals stories of loss, resilience and hope amongst the Palestinian people, whilst also highlighting the devastating consequences of the genocide for medical staff and their patients.
The result is an intimate portrait of two doctors: professionals at the operating table, yet desperate and helpless in the face of destruction, suffering and deprivation.
Through their lives, they embody the principle of hope.
