1979 schrieb James Baldwin einen Brief an seinen Literaturagenten, in dem er sein nächstes Projekt „Remember This House“ beschrieb.
Das Buch sollte eine revolutionäre, persönliche Darstellung des Lebens und der Ermordung von drei seiner engen Freunde sein: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X und Martin Luther King Jr.
Als Baldwin 1987 starb, hinterließ er nur 30 fertige Seiten dieses Manuskripts. Der Filmemacher Raoul Peck stellt sich das Buch vor, das James Baldwin nie fertiggestellt hat.

In 1979, James Baldwin wrote a letter to his literary agent describing his next project, „Remember This House.“
The book was to be a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.
