Während der israelische Staat Palästina, Libanon und Syrien gleichzeitig besetzt und Krieg gegen den Iran führt, ist die größte Sorge der Regierenden hierzulande „Israels Existenzrecht“, dessen Ablehnung sogar unter Strafe gestellt und verfolgt werden soll.
Was steckt hinter der viel verwendeten Floskel und warum ist sie den Herrschenden in Deutschland so wichtig? Worin wurzelt Israels Gewalttätigkeit und wie kann sie enden? Was können wir hier zum Ende der Gewalt in der Region beitragen?

Israel and Palestinians: The right to exist for people, not for states
Open plenary session SVU Berlin-South
Whilst the Israeli state simultaneously occupies Palestine, Lebanon and Syria and wages war against Iran, the greatest concern of those in power here is “Israel’s right to exist”, the denial of which is even to be made a criminal offence and prosecuted.
What lies behind this much-used phrase and why is it so important to those in power in Germany? What are the roots of Israel’s violence and how can it be brought to an end? What can we do here to help end the violence in the region?
