Seit Januar 2026 spitzt sich die Lage in Rojava dramatisch zu. Nach dem Angriff der Syrischen Übergangsregierung, ausgeführt von den HTS Milizen, politischen Manövern rund um einen angeblichen „Waffenstillstand“ und dem darauf folgenden Rückzug der Demokratischen Kräfte Syriens (SDF) aus Teilen Nordsyriens nutzen dschihadistische Milizen das entstandene Machtvakuum.
Aktuell versuchen bewaffnete dschihadistische Banden, unterstützt von der türkischen und syrischen Regierung, die Stadt Kobanê zu belagern. Die Angriffe richten sich direkt gegen die selbstverwalteten Strukturen, die Frauenbefreiung und das solidarische Zusammenleben in Rojava.
Die Verteidigungseinheiten QSD/SDF und YPJ leisten Widerstand – ebenso die Zivilbevölkerung, die sich in Selbstverteidigungsstrukturen organisiert.
Kobanê ist kein unbekannter Ort des Widerstands. Vor elf Jahren wurde die Stadt weltweit zum Symbol der Frauenrevolution und des erfolgreichen Kampfes gegen den IS – getragen von kurdischen und internationalistischen Kräften.
Heute stehen erneut dschihadistische Akteure vor den Toren der Stadt, politisch geduldet, finanziert und gestützt durch imperialistische Interessen.
Rojava wird angegriffen, weil dort eine gesellschaftliche Alternative zur kapitalistischen, patriarchalen und autoritären Normalität aufgebaut wird – basisdemokratisch, feministisch und antikapitalistisch. Diese Revolution stellt Herrschaft, Ausbeutung und Unterdrückung grundsätzlich infrage.
Genau deshalb ist sie Ziel dschihadistischer Angriffe und imperialistischer Strategien.
Unsere Aufgabe als Jugendliche in Europa ist es, diese Angriffe nicht als „fernen Konflikt“ hinzunehmen.
Die Waffen, das Geld und die politische Rückendeckung für diese Angriffe kommen auch aus den Zentren des Imperialismus – der westlichen Industriestaaten.
Solidarität heißt deshalb, hier aktiv zu werden: Öffentlichkeit schaffen, Druck aufbauen, uns organisieren und Widerstand leisten!
Wir rufen international zu Solidarität und Widerstand auf!

Since January 2026, the situation in Rojava has been coming to a head. Following the attack by the Syrian transitional government, carried out by HTS militias, political manoeuvring around an alleged ‘ceasefire’ and the subsequent withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from parts of northern Syria, jihadist militias are exploiting the resulting power vacuum.
Currently, armed jihadist gangs, supported by the Turkish and Syrian governments, are attempting to besiege the city of Kobanê. The attacks are directed against the self-governing structures, women’s liberation and solidarity-based coexistence in Rojava.
The QSD/SDF and YPJ defence units are putting up resistance, as is the civilian population, which has organised itself into self-defence structures.
Kobanê is no stranger to resistance. Eleven years ago, the city became a global symbol of the women’s revolution and the successful fight against IS, supported by Kurdish and internationalist forces.
Today, jihadist actors are once again at the gates of the city, politically tolerated, financed and supported by imperialist interests.
Rojava is under attack because a social alternative to capitalist, patriarchal and authoritarian normality is being built there – grassroots democratic, feminist and anti-capitalist. This revolution fundamentally challenges domination, exploitation and oppression.
This is precisely why it is the target of jihadist attacks and imperialist strategies.
Our task as young people in Europe is not to accept these attacks as a ‘distant conflict’.
The weapons, money and political backing for these attacks also come from the centres of imperialism – the Western industrialised countries.
Solidarity therefore means taking action here: raising public awareness, building pressure, organising ourselves and resisting!
We call for international solidarity and resistance!
