🕊 Benefizveranstaltung für die Friedensstatue! 🕊
Am 29. September veranstalten wir eine Benefizveranstaltung zur Unterstützung von @koreaverband, einer gemeinnützigen Organisation, die sich gegen die Zwangsräumung der Friedensstatue (Ari) in Berlin-Moabit einsetzt.
Kommt von 14:00 bis 22:00 Uhr in die @raumerweiterungshalle und erlebt einen ganzen Tag voller Live-Performances, Podiumsdiskussionen, Siebdruck, DJ-Sets und mehr!
Warum dies wichtig ist:
- Die Friedensstatue wurde 2020 vom Korea Verband errichtet, um die Opfer der sexuellen Sklaverei durch das japanische Militär während des Zweiten Weltkriegs zu ehren.
- Bereits einen Tag nach der Enthüllung drängte die japanische Regierung auf die Entfernung der Statue.
- Trotz vierjährigen Widerstands hat das Bezirksamt Berlin-Mitte nun die Entfernung des Denkmals für den 28. September 2024 angeordnet und dabei die starke lokale Unterstützung der Moabiter und ihrer Vertreter ignoriert.
Der Angriff auf Ari ist nicht nur ein Angriff auf die Statue, sondern auf die Erinnerungskultur und auf alle unterdrückten und ausgegrenzten Menschen in Berlin.
Der Korea Verband braucht unsere Hilfe:
Es drohen Gerichtskosten und Bußgelder in Höhe von mindestens 10.000 Euro für die Weigerung, die Statue zu entfernen.
Nachdem sie aufgrund von politischem Druck die Finanzierung verloren haben, brauchen sie dringend Unterstützung, um ihren Kampf fortzusetzen.
Der gesamte Erlös der Veranstaltung geht direkt an den Korea Verband, um die Anwaltskosten zu decken und die Friedensstatue weiterhin zu verteidigen.
Lasst uns solidarisch sein und dafür sorgen, dass Ari dort bleibt, wo sie hingehört!

🕊 Fundraiser Event for the Statue of Peace! 🕊
On September 29, we’re hosting a fundraiser to support @koreaverband, a non-profit fighting to prevent the forced removal of the Statue of Peace (Ari) in Berlin-Moabit.
Join us from 2pm to 10pm at @raumerweiterungshalle for a full day of live performances, panel discussions, screen printing, DJ sets, and more!
Why This Matters:
- The Statue of Peace was erected in 2020 by Korea Verband to honor the victims of sexual slavery by the Japanese military during WWII.
- Just a day after its unveiling, the Japanese government began pushing for its removal.
- Despite four years of resistance, the Berlin-Mitte district office has now issued a removal order for September 28, 2024, ignoring strong local support from Moabit residents and their representatives.The attack on Ari is not just an attack on the statue, but on memory culture and on all repressed and marginalized people in Berlin.
Korea Verband Needs Our Help:
They face legal fees and fines of at least 10,000 euros for refusing to remove the statue.
After losing funding due to political pressure, they urgently need support to continue their fight.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Korea Verband to cover legal costs and continue defending the Statue of Peace.
