Mehr als 100 Jahre nach ihrer Plünderung kehren 26 Kunstschätze aus Paris zurück in ihr Herkunftsland, das heutige Benin.
Während der Invasion der französischen Kolonialtruppen im Jahr 1892 wurden tausende königliche Schätze und Werke aus dem westafrikanischen Königreich Dahomey geplündert.
Der Dokumentarfilm begleitet diese Rückgabe und zeigt sowohl die Feierlichkeiten als auch die politischen Debatten, die als Reaktion auf die Rückkehr der Kunstwerke ausbrechen.
Unser Filmabend findet jeden zweiten Donnerstag des Monats in der Roten Lilly statt.

More than 100 years after they were looted, 26 art treasures are returning from Paris to their country of origin, now known as Benin.
During the invasion by French colonial troops in 1892, thousands of royal treasures and works of art were looted from the West African kingdom of Dahomey.
The documentary accompanies this restitution and shows both the celebrations and the political debates that erupt in response to the return of the artworks.
Our film night takes place every second Thursday of the month at Rote Lilly.
