Im Kontext des sogenannten “Budapest-Komplexes” gerieten mehrere europäische Antifaschist*innen ins Visier staatlicher Ermittlungen.
Hintergrund sind Auseinandersetzungen am Rande des “Tags der Ehre”, einer jährlich in Budapest stattfindenden geschichtsrevisionistischen Veranstaltung.
Im Zentrum des Films steht der Fall Maja.T.: Maja ist Antifaschist*in, nicht-binär und wurde rechtswidrig von Deutschland nach Ungarn ausgeliefert.
Das Bundesverfassungsgericht erklärte diese Auslieferung später für rechtswidrig.
Im Anschluss an den Film sprechen wir mit der italienischen Regisseurin Marta Massa und dem ungarischen Journalisten Benjamin Lázár Fazekas (Zeitung Mercé) über den Film, das Verfahren gegen Maja T. und anderen angeklagten Antifaschist*innen in Budapest und die aktuelle politische Situation in Ungarn.
Das Screening in Berlin ist Teil einer Tour in verschiedenen Städten organisiert von @dunyacollective

In the context of the so-called “Budapest Complex,” several European antifascists became the targets of state investigations.
The background lies in clashes surrounding the “Day of Honour,” a revisionist event held annually in Budapest, during which historical units such as the Waffen-SS, the Wehrmacht, and the Hungarian Arrow Cross are honoured and glorified.
At the centre of the film is the case of Maja T.: Maja is an antifascist, non-binary, and was unlawfully extradited from Germany to Hungary.
The German Federal Constitutional Court later ruled this extradition to be illegal.
After the screening, we will talk with the Italian director Marta Massa and the Hungarian journalist Benjamin Lázár Fazekas (newspaper Mercé) about the film, the trial against Maja T. and other antifascists charged in Budapest, as well as the current political situation in Hungary.
The screening in Berlin is part of a tour in different cities organised by @dunyacollective
