Antifa, Macker, Patriarchat – Antifaschismus und Männlichkeit
Warum nur will man unbedingt ein Krieger für das Gute sein? So könnte eine Frage lauten, mit der sich nach dem problematischen Verhältnis von autonomem Antifaschismus und Männlichkeit forschen lässt.
Einerseits steht die radikale Linke nämlich für das Aufbrechen von Geschlechterrollen und für Antisexismus. Andererseits sind es dann aber doch wieder die immer selben Jungs mit den immer selben Frisuren, die im Antifa-Milieu den Ton angeben – Ausnahmen bestätigen hier, freilich, die Regel.
Der Kampf gegen Neonazis erfordert Härte und Aggression, das Bezwingen von Angst und das Eingehen teils erheblicher körperlicher Risiken. Und oft geht er mit bösen gelben Briefen von Ermittlungsbehörden einher.
Wer sollte das wollen? In Rückgriff auf männlichkeitstheoretische und sozialpsychologische Erklärungen, die die konflikthafte männliche Sexualität und Identitätsbildung im Patriarchat ernst nimmt, lässt sich zumindest nachvollziehen, welcher subjektive Vorteil sich für die klassische Figur des „Antifa-Mackers“ aus all dem ziehen lässt.
Wozu? Sicher nicht, um damit aufzuhören, sich Nazis konsequent in den Weg zu stellen – aber auch nicht, um einfach weiter zu machen wie bisher.

Antifa, Macker, patriarchy – antifascism and masculinity
Why is it so important to be a warrior for good? This could be a question that could be used to investigate the problematic relationship between autonomous anti-fascism and masculinity.
On the one hand, the radical left stands for breaking up gender roles and for anti-sexism. On the other hand, however, it is always the same boys with the same hairstyles who set the tone in the antifa milieu – exceptions prove the rule here, of course.
The fight against neo-Nazis requires toughness and aggression, conquering fear and sometimes taking considerable physical risks. And it often goes hand in hand with nasty yellow letters from the investigating authorities.
Who would want that? With recourse to explanations from masculinity theory and social psychology, which take conflictual male sexuality and identity formation in patriarchy seriously, it is at least possible to understand what subjective advantage can be derived from all this for the classic figure of the ‘Antifa macker’.
What for? Certainly not to stop consistently standing in the way of Nazis – but also not to simply carry on as before.
