🗣 Film in arabischer Sprache mit englischen Untertiteln
In diesem Semester jährt sich zum 15. Mal der Beginn der demokratischen Revolutionen in der arabischen Region.
Revolutionen, die bis heute noch nicht alle ihre Ziele erreicht haben.
Der historische Aufstand, der im Dezember 2010 in Tunesien begann und sich innerhalb weniger Wochen auf viele Länder ausbreitete, lehrt uns viele konkrete Lektionen über kollektive Befreiung und Revolution.
Der Film „The Square” begleitet Teilnehmer der ägyptischen Revolution während ihres Kampfes. Er zeigt auch die Protestkultur rund um den berüchtigten Tahrir-Platz.
Da der Film aus dem Inneren der Proteste gedreht wurde, ist er auf Arabisch mit englischen Untertiteln.
Wir beginnen mit einer Einführung, schauen uns den Film an und halten anschließend eine Diskussion ab.

🗣 Movie in Arabic with English subtitles
This semester marks 15 years since the democratic revolutions across the Arab region began.
Revolutions that, to this day, have not yet achieved all of their goals.
The historic uprising that started in December 2010 in Tunisia and spread across many countries within weeks teaches us many concrete lessons about collective liberation and revolution.
The movie „The Square“ follows participants of the Egyptian revolution throughout their struggle. It also depicts the protest culture surrounding the infamous Tahrir Square.
Because the film was shot from inside the protests, it is in Arabic with English subtitles.
We will begin with an introductory input, watch the movie, and then hold a discussion.
