Wie Repressionen und Polizeigewalt im Namen der deutschen Staatsräson die Integrität und Autonomie
lm Mai 2024 besetzten Studierende und Aktivist*innen das Institut für
Sozialwissenschaften an der HU und eröffneten das Zlabalia Institut, um gegen die Komplizenschaft der Universität mit dem anhaltenden Völkermord in Gaza zu protestieren.
Auf die konkreten Forderungen, u. a. die Unterstützung eines sofortigen und bedingungslosen Waffenstillstands, das Ende aller akademischen und
institutionellen Kooperationen mit israelischen Universitäten und anderen
Institutionen sowie die Ablehnung des verzerrten Antisemitismus-Begriffs durch die IHRA-Definition, reagierte die HU nach der gewaltvollen Räumung mit repressiven Methoden und Strafanzeigen.
Aus eigener Erfahrung berichtet ein Mitglied der Student Coalition Berlin von der Besetzung und der Strafverfolgung, welche in einem Freispruch resultierte.
Es lebe der studentische Widerstand!

How repression and police violence in the name of German state policy undermine integrity and autonomy
In May 2024, students and activists occupied the Institute of Social Sciences at HU and opened the Zlabalia Institute to protest the university’s complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
After the violent eviction, HU responded to the specific demands, including support for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, an end to all academic and institutional cooperation with Israeli universities and other institutions, and a rejection of the distorted definition of antisemitism contained in the IHRA definition, with repressive methods and criminal charges.
A member of the Student Coalition Berlin reports from his own experience of the occupation and the prosecution, which resulted in an acquittal.
