*Broschüre Mythos1948*
Eine neue Broschüre soll in Schulen mit Mythen über die Staatsgründung Israels aufräumen.
Unsere Kritik: Die Broschüre verfälscht die Geschichte und leugnet das historische Leid der Palästinenser*innen! Sie hat an Schulen nichts zu suchen!
Zusammengestellt wurde die Broschüre von dem Verein Masiyot. Sie wurde gefördert von der Berliner Landeszentrale für politische Bildung. Die Broschüre soll in Neuköllner Schulen eingesetzt werden. Dafür haben sich CDU und SPD in der Bezirksverordnetenversammlung (BVV) stark gemacht, bei Enthaltung der Grünen und gegen die Stimmen der Linken.
Das Problem: Die Behauptungen darin sind nicht belegt – sie sind zu einem großen Teil sogar widerlegt.
Nur einige Beispiele:
– Die Broschüre leugnet, dass Israel eine Besatzungsmacht ist. Dabei ist die völkerrechtswidrige Besatzung Israels international anerkannt.
– Die Broschüre verharmlost den illegalen Siedlungsbau Israels. Stattdessen behauptet sie, wer von Landraub spricht, argumentiere antisemitisch.
– Die Broschüre behauptet, Israel sei antirassistisch, antikolonial und antifaschistisch. Das ist reiner Hohn. Israels Regierung ist offen rechtsextrem eingestellt und verfolgt das Ziel, das Westjordanland und Gaza vollständig zu besiedeln. Menschenrechtsorganisationen sprechen seit Jahren von Apartheid – auch das leugnet die Broschüre.
– Die Broschüre verharmlost die Nakba. Israel hätte 1948 nicht 750.000 Palästinenser vertrieben und enteignet. Stattdessen behauptet die Broschüre gerschichtsverfälschend, es handele sich um den „gescheiterten Versuch der Araber, den jüdischen Staat auszulöschen“. Das ist ein Schlag ins Gesicht für alle, deren Geschichten zutiefst von dieser Katastrophe geprägt wurden.

*Brochure Mythos1948*
A new brochure aims to dispel myths about the founding of the state of Israel in schools.
Our criticism: The brochure falsifies history and denies the historical suffering of the Palestinians! It has no place in schools!
The brochure was compiled by the Masiyot association. It was funded by the Berlin State Centre for Political Education. The brochure is to be used in schools in Neukölln. The CDU and SPD have campaigned for this in the district council (BVV), with the Greens abstaining and the Left Party voting against.
The problem is that the claims made are not substantiated – in fact, many of them have been refuted.
Just a few examples:
– The brochure denies that Israel is an occupying power. Yet Israel’s occupation, which violates international law, is internationally recognised.
– The brochure trivialises Israel’s illegal settlement construction. Instead, it claims that anyone who talks about land theft is making anti-Semitic arguments.
– The brochure claims that Israel is anti-racist, anti-colonial and anti-fascist. That is pure mockery. Israel’s government is openly right-wing extremist and is pursuing the goal of completely colonising the West Bank and Gaza. Human rights organisations have been talking about apartheid for years – something the brochure also denies.
– The brochure trivialises the Nakba. Israel did not expel and dispossess 750,000 Palestinians in 1948. Instead, the brochure falsifies history by claiming that it was a „failed attempt by the Arabs to wipe out the Jewish state“. This is a slap in the face for all those whose stories were deeply affected by this catastrophe.
