Mimouna ist ein maghrebinisch-jüdisches Fest zum Ende des Pessachfestes.

Dieses Fest feiert die Gemeinschaft als Ganzes. Unsere Tür steht allen offen, und wir heißen alle Menschen willkommen, unabhängig von Klasse, Ethnie, Geschlecht und Konfession– und essen dabei jede Menge Süßigkeiten.

Was bedeutet es, „unsere Tür für alle zu öffnen“ in Zeiten von Massenvertreibung, Unterdrückung, Kriegen, Völkermorden, kolonialer Besatzung, Trauer und Verlust?

Wir werden diese Gelegenheit nutzen, um gemeinsam über Möglichkeiten nachzudenken.

Im Workshop-Teil der Veranstaltung konzentrieren wir uns auf Aktionen der Solidarität und der Verantwortlichkeit:

Wie können wir der zionistischen kolonialen Zerstörung, dem Nationalismus, dem Faschismus, der kapitalistischen Ausbeutung und dem Patriarchat in unseren Communitys entgegenwirken , und dabei unsere unterschiedlichen Machtpositionen anerkennen?

Feel free to dress up for the occasion!

Mimouna is a Maghrebi-Jewish festival marking the end of Passover.

We celebrate it to give visibility to Arab-Jewish culture.

This festival celebrates the community as a whole. Our door is open to everyone, and we welcome all people, regardless of class, ethnicity, gender and denomination – whilst eating plenty of sweets.

What does it mean to ‘open our door to everyone’ in times of mass displacement, oppression, wars, genocides, colonial occupation, grief and loss?

We will use this opportunity to reflect together on possibilities.

In the workshop section of the event, we will focus on actions of solidarity and accountability:

How can we counter Zionist colonial destruction, nationalism, fascism, capitalist exploitation and patriarchy in our communities, whilst acknowledging our different positions of power?

*At our Mimouna, we will be collecting donations for a family in Gaza who, like so many others, are suffering under Israel’s ongoing genocide.
