In 2024, Maja was extradited from Germany to Hungary, where she is facing a political show trial. The trial is expected to conclude on 4 February with a predictably harsh sentence.
Maja is part of a group that allegedly attacked participants in an SS memorial demonstration.
Germany is cooperating with Hungary to combat anti-fascism and is also prosecuting anti-fascists in its own country.
Hanna was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Demonstrations are also increasingly being attacked by the police. Governments are waging a witch hunt against anti-fascism with bans or calls for bans on ‘Antifa’ – from the USA to Hungary, Czechia, the Netherlands and Germany.
With the Palantir surveillance system, the entire society is monitored with AI technology. Repression against political resistance is expanding massively.
The fact that the German state is not combating growing fascism is no coincidence or historical amnesia, but rather a result of its function. Namely, to maintain class society with the means best suited to the current world situation.
With the expansion of surveillance and the open attack on resistance, fascism is being given free rein instead of being combated.
To combat it, we must take action ourselves.
That is why the struggle we are waging against fascists in our neighbourhoods, universities, schools, workplaces and on the streets is linked to the struggle for the freedom of Maja, Hanna and Zaid, who are in prison for their activism.
They show us that we must take action today against the German state, which ultimately resorts to fascism to preserve class society.
Let’s take to the streets on the day of the verdict!
On 7 February, let’s go to the big demonstration in Jena!
Freedom for Maja!
Freedom for all political prisoners!
