Am 9. August und am 30. August 2025 von 13-18 Uhr renovieren wir das Gecekondu und gestalten es gemeinsam neu!
Die ganze Nachbarschaft ist eingeladen – kommt einfach vorbei!
Mieter:innen haben 2012 mit einem selbstgebauten Protesthaus (Gecekondu) den Platz vor den Sozialwohnungen am Kottbusser Tor besetzt und protestieren seitdem u. a. gegen steigende Mieten.
Das Gecekondu ist heute ein Nachbarschaftstreffpunkt, wo sich Menschen treffen und organisieren, um den Kotti und Kreuzberg zu einem lebenswerten Ort zu machen.

On 9 August and 30 August 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., we will be renovating the Gecekondu and redesigning it together!
The whole neighbourhood is invited – just come by!
In 2012, tenants occupied the square in front of the social housing complex at Kottbusser Tor with a self-built protest house (Gecekondu) and have been protesting against rising rents, among other things, ever since.
Today, the Gecekondu is a neighbourhood meeting place where people come together and organise to make Kotti and Kreuzberg a livable place.
