warum einen Film von vor über 20 Jahren ansehen?
🎞️ Was: Film von Samir Abdallah & José Reynès
Weil er heute so aktuell ist wie damals. Der palästinensische Dichter Mahmud Darwisch lud damals Autor*innen aus aller Welt nach Palästina ein, damit sie Zeugnis ablegen von dem, was sie in der Westbank und in Gaza sahen.
Die Szenen von 2002 wirken, als wären sie heute aufgenommen worden.
Die Schriftstellerinnen bezeugen den sumud der Palästinenserinnen: das Ausharren, das unbeirrbare Beharren auf Rechten.
Obwohl informiert, sind sie sichtlich erschüttert.
Mit ihren palästinensischen Gastgeber*innen stellen sie die Frage:
Welche Konsequenzen sind zu ziehen?
Darüber zu sprechen, besteht die Gelegenheit nach dem Film.

Why watch a film from over 20 years ago?
🎞️ What: Film by Samir Abdallah & José Reynès
Because it is as relevant today as it was then. Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish invited authors from all over the world to Palestine to bear witness to what they saw in the West Bank and Gaza.
The scenes from 2002 seem as if they were filmed today.
The writers bear witness to the sumud of the Palestinian women: their perseverance, their unwavering insistence on their rights.
Although informed, they are visibly shaken.
Together with their Palestinian hosts, they ask the question:
What conclusions should be drawn?
There will be an opportunity to discuss this after the film.
