✊ Aktionstag & Event: „Letters of Resistance“ zum ersten Jahrestag des EU-(Anti-)Migrationspakts GEAS – mit Sammelaktion ‼️
Überall ersticken dieselben Unterdrückungsmechanismen unsere Freiheiten. Von Belgrad bis Athen, von Rom bis Brüssel unterdrücken Regierungen diejenigen, deren Leben sowieso schon am unsichersten sind, zerstören Solidarität und verfolgen die, die sich nicht beugen.
Am 10. April 2024 verabschiedete das EU-Parlament den EU-Migrations- und Asylpakt trotz unseres vehementen Widerstands.
Anlässlich des ersten Jahrestages wollen wir dazu einladen, sich mit der Realität der europäischen Asyl- und Migrationsgesetzgebung anhand von Briefen betroffener Personen auseinanderzusetzen: „Letters of Resistance“
Einen Brief zu lesen, erlaubt den haarsträubenden Ton und die Geschwindigkeit der Welt herunter zudrehen und sie dennoch begreifbar zu machen. In den Erfahrungen mit Lagern, Haft und Grenzen liegt ein unschätzbares Wissen über unsere Gesellschaften und Möglichkeiten kollektiver Widerständigkeiten.
Ergänzend zu den Briefen sprechen wir über aktuelle Entwicklungen im Zusammenhang der GEAS-Reform. Anschließend wird es ein „freies Lesen“ der Briefe geben, welches musikalisch begleitet wird.

Dies ist eine Veranstaltung der Berliner Gruppe des transnationalen Netzwerks CEASwatch/ General Assembly against the Pact, ein Zusammenschluss von @wir_packen_s_an, @seebruecke_berlin, @projectelpida, @seawatchcrew, und einzelne Aktivist*innen, welches sich gegen den Pakt, Grenzen, Haft und ihre rassistischen und kolonialen Kontinuitäten einsetzt – für eine Welt, in der sich alle Menschen frei bewegen können!
Die Aktion ist Teil des transnationalen Aktionstags: Zeitgleich finden im Rahmen des Netzwerks Proteste in mehreren Städten Europas und Afrikas statt.

✊ Day of action & event: ‘Letters of Resistance’ on the first anniversary of the EU (anti-)migration pact GEAS – with collection campaign ‼️
The same mechanisms of oppression are suffocating our freedoms everywhere. From Belgrade to Athens, from Rome to Brussels, governments are oppressing those whose lives are already the most insecure, destroying solidarity and persecuting those who do not comply.
On 10 April 2024, the EU Parliament adopted the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum despite our vehement opposition.
On the occasion of the first anniversary, we would like to invite you to engage with the reality of European asylum and migration legislation through letters from affected people: ‘Letters of Resistance’
Reading a letter allows you to turn down the hair-raising tone and speed of the world and still make it comprehensible. In the experiences of camps, imprisonment and borders lies invaluable knowledge about our societies and the possibilities of collective resistance.
In addition to the letters, we will talk about current developments in connection with the GEAS reform. This will be followed by a ‘free reading’ of the letters, accompanied by music.

This is an event of the Berlin group of the transnational network CEASwatch/ General Assembly against the Pact, a coalition of @wir_packen_s_an, @seebruecke_berlin, @projectelpida, @seawatchcrew, and individual activists*, which campaigns against the Pact, borders, detention and their racist and colonial continuities – for a world in which all people can move freely!
The action is part of the transnational day of action: At the same time, protests are taking place in several cities in Europe and Africa as part of the network.
