Erinnerungskultur(en) in der postmigrantischen Gesellschaft
🗓️Anlässlich des 110. Gedenkjahres des Völkermords an den Armenier*innen widmet sich dieses Symposium den Spuren von Genoziden und massiven Menschenrechtsverletzungen sowie deren Bedeutung aus heutiger Perspektive.
➡️In einer Gesellschaft, die zunehmend von postmigrantischen Realitäten geprägt ist, gewinnt die Auseinandersetzung mit Erinnerungskulturen besondere Relevanz.
💡Welche Mechanismen kollektiver Erinnerung bestehen? Wie beeinflussen sie unsere gegenwärtige Gesellschaft und politische Diskurse? Welche Verantwortung trägt Deutschland sowohl historisch als auch im aktuellen Kontext?
🔴Ziel der Veranstaltung ist, die Auseinandersetzung mit historischen Verbrechen als integralen Bestandteil postmigrantischer Erinnerungspolitik zu verankern und zu einer inklusiven und intersektionalen Gedenkkultur beizutragen.
Das zweigeteilte Symposium bringt Denkmalinitiativen, Vertreter*innen zivilgesellschaftlicher Organisationen, Wissenschaftler*innen, Aktivist*innen und Kulturschaffende zusammen.
Gemeinsam sollen neue Perspektiven auf Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Aktivismus im Kontext massiver Menschenrechtsverletzungen entwickelt werden.
Dabei steht die Frage im Mittelpunkt, wie diese in der heutigen Gesellschaft verankert und weitergetragen werden können.

Culture(s) of remembrance in the post-migrant society
🗓️Anlässlich On the 110th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, this symposium is dedicated to the traces of genocide and massive human rights violations and their significance from today’s perspective.
➡️In In a society that is increasingly characterised by post-migrant realities, the examination of cultures of remembrance is becoming particularly relevant.
💡What mechanisms of collective memory exist? How do they influence our current society and political discourse? What responsibility does Germany bear, both historically and in the current context?
🔴The aim of the event is to anchor the examination of historical crimes as an integral part of post-migrant politics of remembrance and to contribute to an inclusive and intersectional culture of remembrance.
The two-part symposium brings together memorial initiatives, representatives of civil society organisations, academics, activists and cultural practitioners.
The aim is to jointly develop new perspectives on remembrance, responsibility and activism in the context of massive human rights violations.
The focus is on the question of how these can be anchored and carried forward in today’s society.
