Ping Pong Tresen zur aktuellen Situation Türkei/Nordkurdistan
Demokratische Zivilgesellschaft unter Druck –
von Zwangsverwaltung, Flucht und Widerstand
In den letzten Jahren ist die Zahl der Menschen, die aus der Türkei und den kurdischen Gebieten fliehen, drastisch gestiegen. Die Fluchtbewegungen gehen zurück auf die zunehmend autoritäre und undemokratische Politik der Türkei.
Diese ist geprägt von Krieg und Mauerbau an den Grenzen und einer massiv wachsenden politischen Repression nach innen. Für die kurdischen Regionen bedeutet dies Zwangsverwaltung, Inhaftierung von politisch Aktiven, Umweltzerstörung und nicht zuletzt die Entrechtung von Frauen.
Hinzu kommt eine tiefe ökonomische Krise und die bis heute mangelhafte Versorgung der Überlebenden in den Erdbebengebieten.
Im März, kurz vor den Kommunalwahlen, war eine Delegation der Friedensorganisation IPPNW in der Türkei; auf Einladung der DEM-Parti bildete sich zudem eine Wahlbeobachtungsdelegation. Teilnehmer*innen werden von ihren Eindrücken berichten.
Eine aus der Türkei geflohene Rechtsanwältin wird ihrerseits die Situation einordnen.

Ping pong counter on the current situation in Turkey/North Kurdistan
Democratic civil society under pressure –
of forced administration, flight and resistance
In recent years, the number of people fleeing Turkey and the Kurdish regions has risen dramatically. The refugee movements are due to Turkey’s increasingly authoritarian and undemocratic policies.
This is characterised by war and the building of walls on the borders and a massive increase in internal political repression. For the Kurdish regions, this means forced administration, imprisonment of political activists, environmental destruction and, last but not least, the disenfranchisement of women.
In addition, there is a deep economic crisis and the lack of supplies for survivors in the earthquake regions to this day.
In March, shortly before the local elections, a delegation from the peace organisation IPPNW visited Turkey; at the invitation of DEM-Parti, an election observation delegation was also formed. Participants will report on their impressions.
A lawyer who has fled from Turkey will give her assessment of the situation.
