In Berlin sollen dieses und nächstes Jahr rund 3,8 Milliarden Euro gekürzt werden. Für Neukölln bedeutet das Einsparungen von rund 20 Millionen Euro.
Die Kürzungen bedeuten konkret kürzere Öffnungszeiten für Jugendzentren und Familienberatungen, weniger Personal bei freien Trägern und das Wegfallen von Jugendreisen und sozialen Angeboten.
Dabei wäre das Geld da, die Berliner Friede Springer und Mathias Döpfner besitzen alleine ein Vermögen von 3,8 Milliarden Euro.
Sind die Kürzungen deswegen zwangsläufig nötig? Wir sagen klar: Nein! Vielmehr setzen die bürgerlichen Parteien mit ihren Kürzungen eine Politik um, die bewusst unsere Interessen denen der Reichen und Konzerne unterordnet.
Aus diesem Grund wollen wir am 6. März gemeinsam diskutieren, welche Alternativen es zur Kürzungen und Schuldenbremse gibt und vor allem was wir konkret in Neukölln machen können, um die Einsparungen abzuwehren.
Dazu haben wir ein kurzes Referat vorbereitet, in dem wir kurz ins Thema einführen. Danach kann offen diskutiert werden.

Around 3.8 billion euros are to be cut in Berlin this year and next. For Neukölln, this means savings of around 20 million euros.
In concrete terms, the cuts mean shorter opening hours for youth centres and family counselling, fewer staff at independent organisations and the discontinuation of youth trips and social services.
Yet the money would be there; the Berlin-based Friede Springer and Mathias Döpfner alone own a fortune of 3.8 billion euros.
Does that mean the cuts are inevitable? We clearly say: No. In fact, with their cuts, the bourgeois parties are implementing a policy that deliberately subordinates our interests to those of the rich and corporations.
For this reason, we want to discuss together on 6 March what alternatives there are to the cuts and debt brake and, above all, what we can do specifically in Neukölln to fend off the cuts.
We have prepared a short presentation in which we will briefly introduce the topic. This will be followed by an open discussion.
