Zwölf Jahre nach dem Angriff des sogenannten „Islamischen Staates“ auf Şengal sprechen wir als Cênî mit u.a. Asha Hedayati über die juristische, soziologische und gesellschaftliche Dimension des Verbrechens, sowie über Verantwortung, Anerkennung und Strafverfolgung, sowie über die Folgen für Überlebende.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen auch die Stimmen und Kämpfe der Êzîd:innen selbst, sei es durch ihren Widerstand, ihre Selbstorganisation und ihr Einsatz gegen das Vergessen

12 years after the genocide in Şengal: coming to terms with the past, resistance and consequences
The genocide against the Yazidis is not a closed chapter.
Twelve years after the so-called ‘Islamic State’ attacked Şengal, we at Cênî are speaking with Asha Hedayati and others about the legal, sociological and societal dimensions of the crime, as well as about responsibility, recognition and prosecution, and the consequences for survivors.
The focus is also on the voices and struggles of the Êzîd people themselves, whether through their resistance, their self-organisation or their efforts to ensure that their experiences are not forgotten.
An evening exploring remembrance as a political practice and the justice that is still pending.
