🔍 Im Anschluss gibt es ein Gespräch mit einer Person, die bei den Protesten in Brasilien beteiligt war und ein Podiumsgespräch über die aktuelle Situation in deutschen Schulen mit berliner Schüler*innen.

🎞️ Inhalt des Filmes:
Im Zentrum des Films stehen Marcela Jesus, Lucas „Koka“ Penteado und Nayara Souza, drei 17-Jährige aus São Paulo, die führende Rollen in den Bildungsprotesten einnehmen.
Als Widerstand gegen geplante Kürzungen im Bildungsetat und die Schließung zahlreicher, ohnehin schon unterfinanzierter staatlicher Schulen formiert sich eine Jugendbewegung, die zahlreiche von der Schließung bedrohte Schulen besetzt.
Die Jugendlichen verbarrikadieren sich in den Schulen gegen die aggressiv vorgehende Polizei. In der Schule bauen sie eine neue, basisdemokratische Struktur auf. Gemeinsam eignen sie sich Wissen zu Themen an, die sonst im Unterricht nicht vorkommen, und bilden einander zu sozialen Fragen, LGBTQ*-Rechten, Feminismus und Antirassismus.
Rückblickend erzählt der Film die Geschichte der Protestbewegung. Die Proteste in Brasilien 2013 begannen mit dem Movimento Passe Livre, das sich als Protest gegen eine Preiserhöhung der Bustickets formierte und sich für einen kostenfreien öffentlichen Nahverkehr einsetzte.
Im Verlauf der folgenden Jahre weitete sich die Bewegung auf zahlreiche soziale Themen aus, insbesondere die Bildungs- und Gesundheitspolitik.

🎞️ Content of the film:
At the centre of the film are Marcela Jesus, Lucas ‘Koka’ Penteado and Nayara Souza, three 17-year-olds from São Paulo who are taking leading roles in the education protests.
As resistance to planned cuts in the education budget and the closure of numerous, already underfunded state schools, a youth movement is forming that is occupying numerous schools threatened with closure.
The young people barricade themselves in the schools against the aggressive police. They are building a new, grassroots democratic structure at school. Together, they acquire knowledge on topics that are otherwise not taught in class and educate each other on social issues, LGBTQ* rights, feminism and anti-racism.
Looking back, the film tells the story of the protest movement. The protests in Brazil began in 2013 with the Movimento Passe Livre, which formed as a protest against a price increase for bus tickets and campaigned for free public transport.
Over the following years, the movement expanded to include numerous social issues, in particular education and health policy.

Magdalenenstraße 19 can be reached with a lift. There is a manoeuvring-sized toilet, there is no room to retreat to, aids for skills are available.
