Debanking ist kein neues Phänomen und keine spezifische Repression gegen linke Organisationen.
Die Kündigung der Konten der Rote Hilfe e.V. (RH) haben jedoch höhere Wellen geschlagen und stellen die Frage welchen Einfluss haben die AntiAntifa Erlasse der US-Regierung, welche Rollen spielen EU-Richtlinien, die Bundesaufsicht für Finanzen (Bafin), die FIU, der dubiose VS und wie sie alle heißen.
Zum Jahresende 2025 wuchs mit dem Debanking-stoppen-Netzwerk rasant eine Graswurzel-online-Bewegung. Dank dem Druck, der dadurch auch aus der Basis der GLS-Kund:innen und -Genoss:innen entstand konnte Ende Februar die RH re:banked werden, während die Sparkasse Göttingen im Eilverfahren am Debanking festhält.
Das Problem des Kontenentzugs progressiver und zivilgesellschaftlicher Akteur:innen besteht weiterhin.
Aus der RH wird eine Aufarbeitung der Vorgänge, die Veränderungen unter sich herauskristallisierender staatlicher Einflussnahme und die Perspektive der Unterstützungsarbeit skizziert.
Ihr seid eingeladen euch an Debatten zu beteiligen, wie etwa ein militanter Antifaschismus zu verteidigen wäre oder sich anarchistischer und zivilgesellschaftlicher Widerstand gegen erstarkende faschistische Tendenzen aufstellen kann.

Debanking is not a new phenomenon, nor is it a form of repression specifically targeting left-wing organisations.
However, the closure of Rote Hilfe e.V. (RH) accounts has caused quite a stir and raises the question of what influence the US government’s Anti-Antifa decrees have, what roles EU directives, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), the FIU, the dubious VS and whatever else they are called play.
By the end of 2025, a grassroots online movement had grown rapidly with the ‘Stop Debanking’ network. Thanks to the pressure this generated, including from the grassroots of GLS customers and members, RH was able to be re-banked by the end of February, whilst Sparkasse Göttingen is sticking to its debanking decision in summary proceedings.
The problem of account closures affecting progressive and civil society actors persists.
The RH outlines an analysis of the events, the changes in state influence that are emerging, and the perspective of support work.
You are invited to take part in debates on how militant anti-fascism might be defended, or how anarchist and civil society resistance can organise itself against growing fascist tendencies.
