Ein Tag voller Diskussionen über Widerstand und Alternativen zum Kapitalismus
Kaum ein Tag vergeht, ohne dass eine neue Krisenmeldung Schlagzeilen macht. Der genozidale Krieg der israelischen Regierung gegen Gaza und der andauernde Krieg in der Ukraine gehen einher mit massiver Militarisierung und gleichzeitigem Sozialabbau in Deutschland.
Die Merz-Klingbeil-Regierung spricht von einem “Herbst der Reformen” und es drohen Kürzungen in Bereichen, wo eigentlich Milliarden-Investitionen nötig wären.
Wirtschaftliche Krisen, Umweltkatastrophen und Wahlsiege von rechten Parteien sind gleichzeitig Alltag. Eine Krise jagt die nächste. Kein Wunder, denn wir leben im Kapitalismus, in dem die Profite der Banken und Konzerne an erster Stelle stehen.
Dass die Grundlage des unvorstellbaren Reichtums Armut, Elend, Krieg, Vertreibung und Klimazerstörung ist, gehört genauso zum Kapitalismus dazu wie Ungleichbehandlung und Diskriminierung.
Bereits jetzt sehen wir Massenbewegungen gegen diese Krisen, wie zuletzt in Indonesien, Nepal oder Kenia. Aber auch in vielen anderen Ländern regt sich Protest: in Frankreich gegen einen Sparhaushalt, in Griechenland gegen Arbeitszeitverlängerung und in Italien in Solidarität mit den Menschen in Gaza. In Deutschland waren Ende September 100.000 Menschen auf der Straße gegen den genozidalen Krieg gegen Gaza.
Besonders der Aufschwung der Linken in diesem Jahr zeigt zugleich, dass immer mehr Menschen gegen den kapitalistischen Wahnsinn aktiv werden und sich organisieren wollen.
Klar ist aus unserer Sicht: Im Rahmen des kapitalistischen Profitsystems können die vielen Probleme, vor denen die Milliarden arbeitender und armer Menschen weltweit stehen, nicht gelöst werden.
Der Sozialismustag ist eine eintägige Veranstaltung, auf der wir deshalb über Widerstand und Alternativen zum Kapitalismus sprechen wollen.
Er wird organisiert von der Sozialistischen Organisation Solidarität (Sol) in Berlin und ist ein Angebot an alle Menschen, mit uns zu diskutieren, aber auch sich zu organisieren und mit uns für eine sozialistische Welt zu kämpfen.

A day full of discussions about resistance and alternatives to capitalism

Hardly a day goes by without a new crisis making headlines. The Israeli government’s genocidal war against Gaza and the ongoing war in Ukraine go hand in hand with massive militarisation and simultaneous social cuts in Germany.

The Merz-Klingbeil government speaks of an ‘autumn of reforms’ and there are threats of cuts in areas where billions in investment are actually needed.

Economic crises, environmental disasters and election victories for right-wing parties are also part of everyday life. One crisis follows another. No wonder, because we live in capitalism, where the profits of banks and corporations come first.

The fact that the basis of unimaginable wealth is poverty, misery, war, displacement and climate destruction is just as much a part of capitalism as inequality and discrimination.

We are already seeing mass movements against these crises, most recently in Indonesia, Nepal and Kenya. But protests are also stirring in many other countries: in France against austerity measures, in Greece against longer working hours and in Italy in solidarity with the people of Gaza. In Germany, 100,000 people took to the streets at the end of September to protest against the genocidal war on Gaza.

The rise of the left this year in particular shows that more and more people are taking action against capitalist madness and want to organise.

From our point of view, it is clear that the many problems faced by billions of working and poor people worldwide cannot be solved within the framework of the capitalist profit system.

Socialism Day is a one-day event where we want to talk about resistance and alternatives to capitalism.

It is organised by the Socialist Organisation Solidarity (Sol) in Berlin and is an invitation to everyone to discuss with us, but also to organise and fight with us for a socialist world.
