Der rassistische Anschlag in Hanau jährt sich zum fünften Mal, doch Anstatt migrantisches Leben in Deutschland zu schützen, hat sich der Diskurs in Deutschland nur weiter nach rechts Bewegt. Der Rassismus in Deutschland wird relativiert und rassifizierte Menschen werden als eigentliche Übeltäter dargestellt.
Aber warum erreichen rassistische Narrative so viele Menschen? Warum setzen sich reiche Unternehmer für die Verbreitung dieser Narrativen und die Umsetzung rassistischer Gesetze ein? Und warum verstärkt der Rassismus vor allem mit der zunehmenden Krisensituation in Deutschland und Weltweit?
Um diesen Fragen nachzugehen widmen wir uns in unserem Lesekreis einer marxistischen Perspektive auf Rassismus. Dafür lesen und diskutieren wir gemeinsam das Kapitel 4 „Rassismus im europäischen Migrations- und Grenzregime aus Sicht einer materialistischen Herrschaftstheorie“ aus dem Sammelband „Die Diversität der Ausbeutung“ von Mendívil und Sarbo.

It is the fifth anniversary of the racist attack in Hanau, but instead of protecting migrant lives in Germany, the discourse in Germany has only moved further to the right. Racism in Germany is being relativised and racialised people are being portrayed as the real culprits.
But why do racist narratives reach so many people? Why do wealthy entrepreneurs support the spread of these narratives and the implementation of racist laws? And why is racism on the rise, especially with the increasing crisis situation in Germany and around the world?
To explore these questions, we will devote our reading group to a Marxist perspective on racism. We will read and discuss chapter 4 ‘Racism in the European migration and border regime from the perspective of a materialist theory of domination’ from the anthology ‘The Diversity of Exploitation’ by Mendívil and Sarbo.
