Zentrales Mittelmeer – die tödlichste Fluchtroute der Welt. Mit 3041 vermissten Menschen war 2023 das tödlichste Jahr auf dem zentralen Mittelmeer seit Jahran für Menschen auf der Flucht. Insgesamt sind seit 2014 auf der Fluchtroute Libyen / Itlaien bisher 22 834 Tote oder Verschwundene gemeldet. Europäische Zivilgesellschaften und ihre Politiker*innen schauen bewusst und aktiv weg.

Verschiedene zivilgesellschaftliche Vereine (NGO’s) kämpfen gegen das Massensterben an, das an unseren europäischen Außengrenzen passiert.

Sea-Eye ist einer dieser Vereine, der Schiffe auf das zentrale Mittelmeer schickt. Mit dem Ziel Menschen aus Seenot an Bord zu nehmen und diese anschließend an einen sicheren Ort in Europa (Italien) zu bringen. Die Schiffe und Einsätze sind ausschließlich Spenden finanziert.

Sea-Eye und andere zivile Seenotrettungsorganisationen setzen mit ihrer Arbeit im zentralen Mittelmeer ein klares Zeichen gegen die eiskalte Abschottungspolitik der europäischen Union, die zutiefst rassistisch und menschenverachtend ist und dazu führt, dass schutzbedürftige Menschen an unseren europäischen Außengrenzen sterben müssen.

Das Handeln der zivilen Organisationen ist eine Antwort auf die gescheiterte Migrationspolitik der Europäischen Union, die sich ihrer Verantwortung für die tausenden Todesfälle im Mittelmeer verweigert.

Festung Europa bekämpfen. Sichere Fluchtwege schaffen. Kein Mensch ist illegal. Refugees welcome. No borders.

 Central Mediterranean – the deadliest known refugee route in the world. 2023 was the deadliest year on the Central Med for people on the move since years with 3041 reported missing people. . In total 22 834 deaths or disappearances are reported since 2014. European societies and politicians are activaly turning a blind eye to the  borders.

Different non governmental organizations (NGO’s) are fighting against the massmurder happening at our European external borders.
Sea-Eye e.V. is one of them, sending ships to the Central Mediterranean with the mission to take people in distress on board and bring them to a safe place in Europe (Italy). The ships are completely financed with private funds.
With their work in the central Mediterranean Sea-Eye and other civil sea rescue organizations are sending a clear signal against the radical policy of exclusion of the European Union towards fleeing people, which is deeply inhuman & racist and leads to thousends of deaths of people seeking safety.
The NGO’s actions are a response to the failed migration policy of the European Union, which constantly denies the responsibility for the deaths at our borders.
