Am Samstag den 25.04. wollen wir mit euch zusammenkommen anlässlich des Genozidgedenktags.
Das jährliche Gedenken trägt eine große Bedeutung, nicht nur in Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit, sondern auch im Hinblick auf unsere Gegenwart.
Daher laden wir für ein Gedenken in Form einer Lesung und Musik, Trauern, Miteinander Lernen und Essen ein.
Unser diesjähriger Fokus ist die Rolle von Deutschland. Aufgrund eurer Rückmeldung über das fehlende Wissen der Beteiligung Deutschlands an dem Genozid an den Assyer*innen, Pontosgriech*innen und Armenier*innen, übernehmen wir da, wo die staatliche Bildung versagt und veranstalten ein Panel zu diesem Thema.
Da Genozide System haben, wollen wir aus der Isolation raus in Verbindung treten – mit Perspektiven vom Holocaust bis zum Genozid in Gaza sowie dem Genozid im Osmanischen Reich.
Dazu sprechen werden Genoss*innen von @jewishbund @fempalarchiv und weiteren.
Über die Veranstaltung hinweg wird es einen Gedenkraum im Garten geben und die Möglichkeit sich dort zurückzuziehen, auszuatmen, zu trauern, zu beten.
Außerdem gemeinsames Crafting von Vergiss-Mein-Nicht Blumen gestaltet von @armenischejugendberlin und ein Videoscreening von “Daugther of the crying man” von @countryofdust
Die Spenden der Küfa (“Küche für alle”) werden an die Kostendeckung der Schließung des @cafe_arakil gehen.

On Saturday 25 April, we would like to come together with you to mark Genocide Remembrance Day.
This annual commemoration is of great significance, not only in remembering the past but also in relation to our present.
We therefore invite you to a commemoration featuring readings and music, mourning, learning together and sharing a meal.
Our focus this year is on the role of Germany. In response to your feedback regarding the lack of knowledge about Germany’s involvement in the genocide of the Assyrians, Pontic Greeks and Armenians, we are stepping in where state education has failed and organising a panel on this topic.
As genocides are systemic, we want to break out of isolation and connect – drawing on perspectives ranging from the Holocaust to the genocide in Gaza and the genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
Speakers will include comrades from @jewishbund, @fempalarchiv and others.
Throughout the event, there will be a memorial space in the garden where you can retreat, take a breath, mourn and pray.
There will also be a joint crafting session making forget-me-not flowers, organised by @armenischejugendberlin, and a video screening of “Daughter of the Crying Man” by @countryofdust
The donations from Küfa (“Kitchen for All”) will go towards covering the costs of the closure of @cafe_arakil.
