Die Pyramide steht in Flammen – Erzähl- und Diskussions Abend über einen Besuch bei den Zapatistas
Liebe Genoss*innen und Freund*innen,
Wir möchten euch herzlich einladen zu unserem erzähl und diskutier Abend über unseren Besuch bei den Zapatistas im August 2025.
Die Zapatistas aus dem Süden Mexikos sind seit ihrem Aufstand im Jahr 1994 weltweit als Bewegung für Gerechtigkeit, Demokratie und Freiheit bekannt.
Als pueblos originarios stellten sie sich der jahrhundertelangen Unterdrückung der indigenen Bevölkerung in Chiapas entgegen.
Mit kollektiver Organisierung befreiten sie das Land und das Leben von den sklavenähnlichen Verhältnissen, die Großgrundbesitzer und Staat in kolonialer Manier aufrechterhielten.
Seitdem befinden sie sich in einem ununterbrochenen Prozess des Aufbaus einer autonomen Gesellschaft.
Der Widerstand der Zapatistas ist ein internationaler Aufruf für die Verteidigung des Lebens und die Autonomie aller Gesellschaften.
Im August 2025 luden die Zapatistas Kollektive, Organisationen und Genoss*innen aus aller Welt zu einem Kongress ein, um Visionen und vielfältige Praxen für eine gerechte Zukunft zu teilen.
Im Mittelpunkt stand die Neuorganisation der Regierungsformen der zapatistischen Autonomie. Denn eine Gesellschaft, die wie eine Pyramide aufgebaut ist, kann den Krieg gegen das Leben nicht überstehen.
Was bedeutet dieses Bild der Pyramide? Und warum ist es so zerstörerisch? Durch Erzählungen und Diskussionen möchten wir diesen Fragen nachgehen, von unserer Reise berichten und mit euch ins Gespräch kommen.
Es wird Küfa und Lagerfeuer geben. Die Veranstaltung wird in deutsch und englisch stattfinden.

A pyramid on fire – Memories, reflections and discussion about a Visit to the Zapatistas
Dear comrades and friends,
We invite you to an evening of memories, reflections and discussion about our visit to the Zapatistas in August 2025.
Since their uprising in 1994, the Zapatistas from southern Mexico have been known worldwide as a movement for justice, democracy, and freedom.
As pueblos originarios, they opposed the centuries-long oppression of the indigenous peoples in Chiapas.
Through collective organization, they liberated the land and their lives from the slave-like conditions and the colonailism of the landowners and the state.
Since then, they are in an ongoing process of building an autonomous society.
The resistance of the Zapatistas is an international call for the defense of life and the autonomy of all peoples and societies.
In August 2025, the Zapatistas invited collectives, organizations, and comrades from all over the world to a congress to share visions and diverse practices of a free life and world.
A focus was on reorganizing the ways of self-government of the Zapatista autonomy.
Since a society structured like a pyramid cannot survive the war against life.
What does this metaphor of the pyramid mean? And why is it so destructive?
Through stories, reflections and discussions, we would like to answer these questions, report on our journey, and discuss together.
There will be a communal meal and campfire. The event will be held in German and English.
